Can Anyone I.D. These Small Hammer Shrouds?
Hello!
Can Anyone I.D. These Small Hammer Shrouds? They are almost identical except for the firing pin differences.
Thank you!

Thank you for the response. I have restored many Forehand & Wadsworth hammerless revolvers, and have never seen anything this small on their revolvers.TRAP55 said:-

You are absolutely correct. I learn something new everyday. They are indeed for the F&W hammerless revolvers. I just have never came across one of these before. You are a wealth of knowledge, and I appreciate your fast and accurate responses.

buttplate,,You had me double checking myself there for a minute. The only reason I remembered what they were, was the distinctive shape, the knurled spot, and the sight notch. I wasn't 100% sure because F&W copied design features from other manufacturers, and then there were Spanish and Belgian knock offs too.
The knowledge came from sorting thousands of break top parts for an old gunsmith that mentored me. A dozen boxes full of random parts, that totaled about 200lbs! If I got them all sorted, I could build, and keep two pistols from the parts. I put together a .32 and .38 nickel plated pair S&W's. That was my two month lesson on break top parts ID, and repair. That was 40yrs ago, and I wish I could remember half of it!I think those shrouds were for the .32cal small frame?

Trap55,
Your memory seems pretty good to me! I have done the same thing with boxes of revolver parts, and it is a good way to learn by sorting and investigating. I have quite a few F&W revolver carcasses that I will go through to see if I can use these hammer shrouds in a restoration. I believe they are for the .22 & .32 small frame.
Thanks again, and stay safe!
