Inogen Portable Oxygen Generators
I often get E-Mails from a medical supply company because my wife utilizes stoma products for the last several years. Today I got one that said the Inogen generators were on sale for 20% off. Even with this sale the machine would set me back 2k but both she and I do suffer with COPD. Haven't needed external O2 yet but the disease does have a tendency to escalate over time.
I know William Shatner did commercials for this product but wonder if anyone here has any personal experience with these units?

My wife has COPD and we got her one of these machines. She just LOVES it because , like the ads, she can move around. 0 -
don't know one way or other brooks, but from the reviews when they work people literally love them, when they break/have problem seems customer support is terrible, hope you have better dealings lot of money to spend to get treated poorly 0 -
I have no experience with Inogen, but I have some experience with O2 & delivery systems. Let me suggest that, before you do anything else, both you & your wife discuss O2 with your doctor. (FYI, O2 is considered to be a "drug", & you usually can't buy it without a prescription.) Your doctor can easily determine if you will benefit from O2 in his office. No point in buying some fancy piece of equipment that you will never use. And, many health insurance & Medicare plans consider O2 to be "durable medical equipment", & will pay some or all of the cost of whichever system you want, if the doctor can justify its use. 0
