I do not agree.  Way to much down side to that kind of thing.

I also don't agree. Last time I looked we don't live in Nazi Germany or Communist Russia.

    C&P from Facebook:

We are seeing the most draconian measures enforced at all levels of government that we've ever seen in our lifetimes, and yet rather than being alarmed by the things going on, so many of you applaud.

People are being arrested for spending too much time outside, and you applaud. Pastors are being arrested for daring to hold church services, and you applaud. A child's birthday party is raided by police, and you applaud. A young woman is ticketed for going on a leisurely drive alone because it's deemed "non-essential travel", and you applaud. A parade of school teachers and administrators who wanted to drive through neighborhoods and wave at children is busted up by cops because they were "nonessential," and you applaud. A lone paddleboarder in the ocean on a beach without any other people around is arrested because he's violating quarantine orders, and you applaud.

People are being denied life saving medical treatments because they're not a priority right now (not "essential" as deemed by the government) as the entirety of our medical system is focused on one thing, and you applaud.

Businesses are beings forcibly closed and padlocked and owners arrested for refusing to shut down, and you applaud. Dairy farmers (and soon, other farmers) are being incentevized to stop dairy farming and to sell their herds, and you don't seem to understand the implications.

You're being told to use hotlines and online forms provided by your local governments to report your neighbors who don't obey, and you comply. You scold people day after day for not obeying government edicts, and if any of us dare to question what's happening, you lecture about how we're a danger to society and and we just don't care about people dying.

You've somehow managed to convince yourselves that the people whose lives are affected by a virus are MUCH more important than the people whose lives are being destroyed (and in many cases, leading to death) by the effects of a worldwide economic shutdown and impending worldwide depression the likes of which no one has ever seen before.

At what point will you start QUESTIONING what's going on? How far does the government have to push before you're jolted awake from your slumber? How far are you willing to go with this?

If they told you to load your families onto train cars so that you could be taken to Virus Protection Facilities for your own safety, would you do it?

YES. Yes, you would. That much has become painfully obvious to me. And the whole time, you'd be shaking your finger and yelling at those of us who refused, accusing us of being "a danger to society" and "not caring if people die."

But they don't have to load you onto train cars and take you to Virus Protection Facilities, or force you to comply, because you do that voluntarily. They control your mind. They control you through fear. They control you by convincing you that the world is a scary dangerous place, but they're here to protect you, care for you, and keep you safe, just as long as you OBEY.

They know that as long as you're locked inside your comfortable home with Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and a cell phone, while dangling a $1200 check in front of you like a carrot on a stick, you'll comply. No force is necessary for the majority of the herd.

YOU ARE IN IMPRISONED, willingly, and you're too blind to see it!

You can agree or not agree.  You can stay home or go out.  But the CARES act wasn’t passed to say “Hey, since you have to stay home and can’t go to work we will pay you to go out and play in your newly found free time.”   The unemployment portions was passed to help keep you funded since you’re supposed to be home rather than work.  If you’re not going to listen to the order, then you don’t rate the remuneration that’s supposed to make obeying that order more palatable.

This isn’t a discussion about whether the order is lawful or not.  To me, it’s irrelevant.  Ms. WT and I decided that it was safer to stay in long before anyone started with stay at home orders.  We didn’t need an order to do what we figured was in our own best interest.

i see little evil in social distancing for a time of great medical peril...don't give a DAMN what stupid do to themselves but to infect many more is out of line and they should be held accountable for their me first attitude....our social systems have slopped around till many think they are OWED anything they want, where they want, when they want...NOW

Freedom is a wonderful thing but comes at a price. If someone ill that was to stupid to stay home coughs on me in public can I blow his butt away for putting my life in danger. Seems to me it would be self defense and a public service. Bob

I live by a big lake and the boat ramps are crowded.  There are also several "nature" trails and the parking areas a full.

I was going to take my dogs to this one area for a swim and it was crowded with young people drinking beer and hanging out.  I hardly ever seen anyone at this area.  So I turned around and walked to a big creek and let them swim and retrieve there.

Freedom isn't free people.  You can't have freedom and at the same time believe you can dictate to others your behavior preferences.   You can what if, could be, and go to what ever extreme you wish to justify what ever stance suits you today.   But if we are to have freedom in this country the basic principle of your rights end where another man's begin has to be applied.  That doesn't include BS what ifs, could be or any other such nonsense.   A man has the right to go about his business, you have the right to go about yours and you both have the right to avoid each other is you choose.

Disagree. Unless the Constitution has been repealed my right to travel shall not be infringed.
I will keep all travel to only what is required for food and banking and repair of required equipment, as I have 2 of the 3 pre-existing conditions.

You guys need to get this into your head - The Stay at Home order is UN-CONSTITUTIONAL. It goes against everything America stands for and the Constitution Stands for!!!!

You need to get on the side of Freedom.

    Agreed 100%.
Many people in today's times are too stupid for freedom. It's unfortunate, because there was a day when self-interested morons were 'taken care of' if you know what I mean, and I don't mean killed. Let's just say they were 'schooled' to change their behavior a bit, or they were removed from the community.

Now we accept ANY kind of behavior, regardless of the danger involved,..........and God knows you better not say anything remotely offensive about someone like this, or YOU will be the one to pay the price. Common sense has ceased to exist, and right and wrong has been reversed it seems.

I am a Transportation Maintenance Supervisor and essential. I have three daughters that are essential and work with the public. I am worried about them and their family's. I will give my opinion of the right or wrong of this situation when I can breath again.

Well then I guess those of us capitalist tax payers that don't qualify to get jack crap from government can enjoy our freedom a bit more.

My right to shop at Home Depot is guaranteed by the Constitution?  Which amendment was that?  One thing is true, people in this country would not tolerate what S. Korea did to stop Covid cold.  They value individual freedom far more highly than the welfare of the society.  I just see limiting my travel and contact with fools as common sense.

I'm on this page with you fellas.  Our stay at home order is very generic, window dressing.  There is no proactive enforcement here, and there won't be, that discussion has already been had. I went out to Rural King and Kroger Saturday morning, I wore a N95 mask (for the first time) and I maintained social distancing and cleaned my hands frequently.   This virus doesn't know if I am out for leisure or because I am required to go to work.  For those that seem so terrified, stay your ass at home and you have nothing to worry about.    The rest of us have responsibilities and things to do.   We are no way near the point in this country that justifies the infringements occurring.

Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death among teenagers.  Yet you don't see parents clamoring to restrict teens from driving until they are adults because it would be to inconvenient.   Life is full of cost/benefit analysis, we know for a fact teen deaths would plummet if they weren't ever allowed to drive, but somewhere along the way people have acknowledged that 50,000 deaths a year are acceptable for the sake of convenience.   Freedom of movement comes with a cost.   You may be the one hit head on by that inattentive teen, or coughed on by that inconsiderate Covid carrier.

Understand the post wasn't about if a person should attempt to maintain "social distancing".  It was about should those that choose to go out more than we may agree with should have benefits withheld, which would be government punishment.

Local shopping, just now. 70% wearing masks. Including the cashiers. Essentials wiped out.

    Beer run. In and out.

    Portents of things to come.

If you choose to not "self isolate," well then, that is on you.

Ken you just know that someone who doesn't "self isolate" will get sick and die. Then the complaining will start that the government should have made self isolation mandatory and it is the government's fault for the death. Some people would benefit from an increased nanny state. Those of us with common sense - not so much. Bob

I live in Meigs County Ohio.  There is one confirmed case, no deaths, 29,000 County residents.  Gallia County has 8 confirmed with 1 death with about 30,000 residents.  I stay home as much as I can but I am doing it of my own free will.  If I need to go someplace then I will dang well go.  I try to be a law abiding Citizen but I'll be dammed if I follow unconstitutional laws like sheep.
