For those at home, how are you filling your time??
With the recommended "stay at home" stuff going on, what has everyone been doing with your extra time? For me, I've gotten quite a bit of stuff cleaned up, replaced treadmill bearings, replaced a washing machine lid switch, yard work for both my mom and myself and other misc items. The biggest item though, is repairing all of the nail pops and sheet rock dings from every day living, and re painting the entire interior of the house by brush and roller...
Amazing how little $$ a person spends when they don't go out on the town. I've never had a tank of diesel last so long in my truck either. I'm getting about 4 days/gallon.. still above 3/4 full after a month...

Eating, drinking, watching YouTube videos, sending emails, rehanging some of the prints on my walls (on the to do list for months), disassembling and thoroughly cleaning all of my suppressors (always a chore, but I have time). I also cleaned the carpets two months ahead of time (I do it twice a year), did some painting around the house and installed the new faucet for the kitchen sink which has been sitting in the box for four months. Did I mention eating and drinking? 0 -
I shoot a lot of skeet, but that to has been shut down by Cuomo , here in New York State. So I have been reloading every gauge and caliber I own. I might not have to reload shotgun shells until next Fall...

My work week hasn't changed much, but my Friday-Sunday certainly has.
I've been keeping busy with car maintenance (changed the oil in the wife's Jeep) and PM's. I organized my gun safe and cabinet a little better today. I've been doing a lot more grilling and cooking in the house than normal. The wife and I have been picking a room each weekend and given it a really good deep clean and are tossing out junk we don't need anymore. Our dog is also enjoying the extra walks and attention he's receiving (and he's already spoiled).

Reloading ,at the rate I am going I am going to run out of empty brass soon . Rebuilding a 1954 super a farmall tractor that was my Dads first tractor . Plus lots of honey do stuff

Working in the yard....sprayed the yard, a couple fence rows, mowed a couple times. Cleaned my shop and organized things for the summer. Fishing at two lakes near my house. Taking my wife on picnics and walks at a local conservation area, Fishing,
Hiking and working on my photography. Living in the sticks has it advantages.
On the days going outside did not work out,, I have enjoyed listening to YouTube and finding old albums from the 70's and 80's
Lots of Todd Rundgren, Utopia. Deep Purple, Styx etc.

got a years wood split and piled on the tree farm. Getting ready to start turning some soil if the frost ever comes out. Too cold out yet to fish, but they are running. Doing a lot of cooking , cant wait to try those pickled eggs. 0 -
I can't stay home. I just have to be doing something outside and not at home. Not hard since I work outside 60-80 hours a week. Tonight, I went to a local WMA and put two miles in planning a youth turkey hunt tomorrow.

My dog, Buddy, is getting totally spoiled. (Like he was not already.)
He is an attention hog. Throwing his paw up on me repeatedly, to let me know, he is not getting smothered with enough Love. Too Funny.

my wife has had a wish list for some time now . she is laid off so were staring on it . stripped the wallpaper off the living room ( been there at least 20 years ) and painted just finishing it up tonight . next up laundry room when the weather turns nice again lot's of out side projects
did I mention lots more to the house and yard to come . ( oh my aching back LOL )0 -

I'll be honest - I ain't done squat diddly that amounts to anything. Every time the outside is almost warm and dry enough to get to work we get two days of wet and cold. Saw gas at $1.39 yesterday while I was out getting some groceries. Didn't bother stopping for the 2 or 3 gallons I could have got in the tank. Governor Gretchen has banned darn near everything so no place to go to burn up any cheap gas. She has even instructed stores like Walmart to rope off everything but the groceries and pharmacy. Couldn't buy paint or stain anywhere in the state even if I wanted to paint. I do have a couple of partially down trees ( caught and leaning against other trees) that I need to take care of but the ground is to soft to make a quick getaway if they start to fall wrong. I am pretty good at getting free standing trees to fall where I want. Those that are tangled up with other trees not so much. So I guess I'll just hang out here for a while and make a pest of myself. I knew was coming but thought it would be mid summer . but I wake up the wife says were stripping wall paper today . Ok dear
the wall paper stripper is in the pole barn and in my mind i have a good idea of its location but did not even mention it no reaction time to dig it out ahead of time . and be the hero, the flip side say something and get the speech on too much junk and not organized and taking longer to find it than doing the job . but lucky the wallpaper came off fairly easy or I would have been rooting thru some boxes and suffered the humiliation of not being organized but saved time in the long run but we still have a few rooms upstairs to go by then I will have it ready ..
my pole barn / garage is a mess right now long story however it is one of my spring/ summer project's to get it back under control0 -

Reloading the brass, I have stashed over the years. Some of the 9 mm & 45 ACP, is really rank. Got to be over 10 years old. Almost dark brown in color. I cook them in a ultra sonic, with Citric Acid for an hour. Best thing I have found. Even gets the primer pockets clean.
Back in the old days, when I still used a tumbler. I used to tumble them for hours. Never could get the primer pockets clean. The walnut shells, would just pack into the primer pockets. Since I started using the ultra sonic with Citric Acid. The primer pockets are clean.0 -
I power washed everything - I even power washed the power washer.
Washed and waxed 8 vehicles. Still have to do the toyhauler.
Replaced almost every movable part on the Cherokee front end. Rock Auto rocks, and delivers
Total spring cleanup/startup on lawn and back yard. Looks like a staycation this summer by the pool0 -

We aren't allowed to fish outside our own county, but golfing is okay (nobody said any of this has to make sense!) so I golf three days a week. In between, I have lots of books to read (currently on book seven of the 20-book Aubrey-Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian) with the third volume of "Hit My Smoke" FAC stories due to arrive today. Fishing shows on TV, and the usual little house to-dos. Plus this here innanet thingie. Not bored yet- heck it isn't that much different than the past 13 years of retired life. 0 -
I've been working in the basement on my model railroad empire, and walking 2 miles a day in the basement (no excuses not to). The other day I went out to the barn and cleaned up under my 6' mower deck, sharpend the 3 blades and installed it under my tractor. Then mowed the 5 acres around the house and the 1 acre down the road on the other side of our west woods. When I got done with that I had to weld up the arm on my lawn roller that I managed to break last week. Other than that, a couple of naps a day, watching some old DVD's, and some idiot box, playing with my Kindle, and enjoying the peace and quiet of country life. I haven't been off the property since March 2nd, when my wife brought me home from the hospital after my colonoscopy.Just livin the dream.

isn't it strange how many of those little " I'll fix it tomorrow things" are now getting fixed?? got my john boat out of building first time in about 3 years and went fishing, reloaded almost every empty shell in the house this winter/virus episode. pressure cleanded mower, tiller, and push mower, house, garaged and almost anything els that wouldn't move. got spring gobbler season coming up in about a week, only thing is I am afraid I might get one, those dang things are tougher than jerky!!!!!!
the last couple years seems the docs have cut into me to repair/replace things about every 6-8 months, still trying to get rid of a limp from my new hip in january. will see how it holds up to chainsaw this evening, got a telephone pole size split tree next to my storage shed that is half dead, gonna get wife to pull on it with side by side while I cut it down, gotta get yard mowed first as likely the tree will take week or so to get sawed up and hauled off with my current health, few years ago I wouldn't have thought twice about things like this, now 30-45 minutes at time is about all I can do, then sit down and catch my breath for the next round, but when you are retired you got plenty of time........0 -

Pretty much normal days for us old retired folks! However, every evening starting at around 8pm is a Music and Merlot evening for me; either with my 2 channel system (Vinyl & CD's) or Home Theater 5.1.2 surround system (Blu-ray DVD's, streaming through YouTube, or streaming through Qello Concerts with Amazon Prime). 0
