Robinhood.......my Aunt put me on this APP that lets you buy stocks
Looking at all of the charts and graphs I thought Disney would be a fun one to get into because the graph showed it WAY down.....and you know its here to stay and will go back up. So, according to what I saw the stock was priced at $90-ish dollars. So, I put $200 in the app's funding thing and selected TWO Disney stocks.
I didn't see it up in the "you own" area with my G.E. stock the next day. So, I asked my Aunt what happened. She asked if I put market or some such thing in.....I didn't know??? Whatever I did wasn't right and I missed buying it at that price. I want you to know I've seen nothing but upward growth on Disney from that moment forward.
So, now if I buy it I've got to pay more.....which is frustrating. I'm shocked at how much ONE share of Amazon is......and Dollar General is in the green every single day, no matter what is going on with anyone else.
This plan to buy a few things here and there is harder than it seems though. I've got to get it sorted out before I really know what I'm doing. I feel like its a good time to put money in though.....if only I could sort out HOW???

+1 on buying Disney. It will probably go up as soon as we open again and they are releasing new films.

I'm on Robinhood as well for shiggles. #4 asked me to sign up to get my freebie and his. Had a few tips and bought low on the following: GUSH, ERI, SAVE and UAL. Decided since I live in the land of baseball and beer I needed some Budweiser stock so I bought BUD. Since the market is moving up it may be difficult to get rock bottom prices but bargains are still out there.
Two airlines, a resort, and gas/oil. Diversity seems to be working for me.

Kasey, at the bottom of the app is the search button (magnifying glass). You can do fuzzy searches such as oil, food, restaurants or specific companies like Home Depot. Click on the stock symbol and it pulls up the history of the stock over the past 52 weeks. Below that are news articles reference the stock.

i tried that day trading once and lost my tail, Enron broke that bad habit for me. now i pay a guy to do that for me, over the past 10 years he has made me a lot of money. i am not one to panic and sell when the bottom falls out. when the dow or s&p average falls doesnt mean all stocks lose value. 0 -
I don't have a lot of "play" money and I've never tried to understand these things. My Aunt helped me set it up where if Disney goes down to $90 per share I'm set to automatically buy two shares. The kicker is when I did that Disney has grown daily......its like an omen of some kind. Whatever I try to buy shoots way up out of my set price and keeps going. I need to just buy it and watch it go back down once I own it.......because you know that is what is going to happen. Once we have the house paid for we will have a little more flexibility to do things like buy stocks. Right now, I'm just toying around with the idea of figuring this out. If I could actually VISIT my Aunt and have her show me things it would help. This thing where I'm just messing with buttons and watching what happens is frustrating. 0 -
Ms. Fork. i agree with you it can be fun and interesting to do just dont bet your future on it. i live on the Ms coast where we have live gambling with pretty girls bringing you comp. drinks as long as you are spending enough money, its a little more fun that way. enjoy yourself and if you make a fortune let us know. just remember like with a lot of other things it can become habit forming. 0 -
Gary-Hang in there my friend. Hope you made the last "BIG" cut. I own a bunch and am not concerned about it coming back. 0
