 Is MS Office365 critical to my OS?
 My main uses for this machine are photos, video/movie streaming, music play list and general online browsing/shopping. If I uninstall it will it impact my other uses in a negative way?

    I don't know if you can uninstall it now, but I did when W-10 first came out with no issues. I vastly prefer either of the two best open-source and completely free alternatives, either Apache Open Office or Libre Office. The Linux Mint OS I'm now using come with LibreOffice installed, so I use that, but Open Office is at least as good and I wrote my books using it. Either one will open all MS-format documents, and can even save in them if needed. For photo work, the equally free open source equivalent to Photoshop is GIMP.
    Edit to add: you can download, install and use either Open or Libre right alongside your MS version with no interference and see how well they work for you. Then delete the MS monster.

    You can uninstall with no ill effects.  However, 365 is an annual subscription.  Verify you have turned off auto renewal in your Microsoft account unless you have a multi license covering other devices.  You may forget you uninstalled it next year when Bill Gates takes your money.

     Thanks guys. Gave it the boot and freed up 5mb. This computer came with a bunch of stuff pre-loaded that I'd never use. Things like x-box and mobile (mates up to an ipad or laptop via wifi I guess) plus something called 3D image. It's all betting the boot.

     The reason I'm dumping everything I can is the Luminar4 image editor I want to install. After reading numerous reviews the biggest complaint is the Folders part tends to run slow when the drive is taken up with needless programs.

     And yes Rocky, I've used Gimp. It's a good editor, but being tech inept as I am it's difficult to get the results I want without frustration and foul language. Luminar4 isn't free, but it's not a subscription either plus it does everything I want plus a whole lot more and is easier to use.

    No sweat, no one program suits everybody. Have you looked into one of the free Office suites yet?

     No, I haven't. To be honest I don't have any need for an office program, or APP as this machine calls them.
