I blocked my own brother from text messages.
I have asked my youngest brother, 54 to STOP sending me the inane, stupid texts, replete with useless pics of crap I have zero interest in, can't figure out what it is or a pic that could have been a two word text. I have patiently explained that I have super slow DSL with a cell booster in my home. It can take up to 10 minutes for one of his stupid useless pics to down load. I have asked, begged and pleaded with him to stop the this insanity.
I am tired, I was up all hours of the night with the hail and lightning storm and have been working my butt off at the house cleaning. I decided to take a quick nap. Of course he HAD to text me five minutes later. I knew, as sure as God makes little green apples the text was from him. In his text he blathered on about the extra $600 a week for the unemployed from the feds we all have known about for the last several weeks. I just told him two days ago I have been unemployed for three weeks and have yet to receive my first State unemployment deposit and was not concerned in the least about it.
I expect to see a dime from the feds the day Nancy Pelosi votes Republican in a straight ticket. I have plenty of money for bills and lots of food. I am prepared for an emergency just like the one we are all in now.
He has my email, he has my phone number but his incessant irrelevant and
useless texting continued right up to about an hour ago. I blocked him on my iphone. I am done with his not getting it and will send him an email explaining my actions and the reasons for it. No, I will not put my phone on silent someone may need to get to me and it could be important. At 54 he should be able to understand basic principles of communication etiquette especially since I have asked him several times to knock it off. Now I don't have to worry about it anymore.

my wife signed up on face book some years ago to stay in touch with some family and relatives living in Ga. and a few close friends she worked with . she started blocking some and then a lot of them and now just signs on a few times a year when something real bad has happened to a family member or friend basically
she tells me it good to a point way too much drama and way too much BS and whining . not to mention back stabbing3 -

Bruce, Your brother and my friend must be related. He text me 10 times a day with stupid porn or porn related crap. I asked him to stop repeatedly. Once in a while is okay, but he needs to be fixed. I finally just blocked him. His nickname is Porno Paul. 3 -
I understand that 100%. I have a older friend lets say really old 70plus. He sends me face book stuff which I do not have. an all kind of porn to useless stuff. Then calls to ask if I saw it. I blocked all text from him. Just get his calls. He still doesnt get it. 3 -
70+ is not old. 90+ is old. 0 -
I finally blocked a man I know. He is 65 y.o., and is the most juvenile adult I have ever known. He sends some of the most silly crap, usually to at least 6 people at a time. If I post anything on FB, he can't help but make some asinine remark. 3
