.38-55 is one of my favorite calibers. I greatly prefer it to any .30-30 even though the trajectory is a bit more rainbow. It is easy to handload and not fussy about powder type, even black works great.

Funny that the item description listed it as "gun only, no box or paperwork", but in the pictures, there is a nice Marlin box... Caveat emptor..... Nice gun....

Nice firearm agreed, but why do people do that? I  avoid auctions like that just because.  Trivial, yes, but just how I go.

Yes I do. I reload all my ammo. I just recently bought a Dillon XL 650. Been reloading for about 40 years now. My favorite past time.

Trying to get use to this new format on here. Anyway, I also bought an old Marlin 336 3030. I really didn't want it, But the price was right and it was unfired. It belonged to friend of mine and I sold some guns for him. In return, he sold me the Marlin for a great price. The wood is gorgeous on it. Never seen wood like that on any Marlin. I ended up getting it confiscated by my son ;)  He really wanted it bad, and I already have a couple. At least I know he will enjoy the heck out of it.
