Wife is Laid off Work Next Week
-
Actually figured it out , it will like getting Raise being laid off. $100.00 more a week. 0 -
my wife ( a temporary ) along with thousands of other full time and part time employees are off
there date to return keeps getting pushed ahead company is paying the first week off full pay after that its going to t and see0 -
No one in my entire family is working including me how ever that may change as the wife was told she may have to go to work next week in the Killwaukee public schools. 0 -
In keeping with this layoff discussion: My wife's doctor has put her on a 4 month medical leave. Is she eligible to file for unemployment? My feeling is that she isn't because she is still an employee, just not working. What do you guys think? 0 -
My co-workers mother is a hair stylist. She figures she's going to make more on unemployment then working, close to $1000 a week for the next four months. $397 from state plus the $600 from fed per week. 0 -
A number of my coworkers will be placed on a "reduced schedule". They will be guaranteed 2 full days pay per week, but to maintain "social distancing", told to stay home. They"ll also get 3 days of unemployment compensation plus the $600 weekly "supplemental" income from Uncle Sam. By some calculations, they'll be taking home more (tax free) than if they worked a full week. If this is how it shakes out, DJT has some serious splainin' to do! We are saddling our future generations with an HORRENDOUS debt and ,like the Trump tax cuts, it appears there may be little or no oversight as to where the money's going or who it's going to!
Get it to the people in need, but NOBODY should get a raise for staying home while the "producers" foot the bill?

Jeff - I feel fairly certain with the new Federal guidelines in place for expanded eligibility for Unemployment, due to the Coronavirus outbreak, she would be approved.
I have also been advised my Doctors, to severely restrict my public exposure until this is over.
I am trying to do so. It has not taken off yet, but is here/local to some degree. I live in an extremely rural environment. Somewhat easy to self isolate/stay away from people.

KenK, She will be happy to hear that. She is presently burning up her saved vacation & sick time. I assume that she will need to empty that until she files. Correct? Thanks,

Yes, Jeff. I believe that is the case.

We are so far past that.....the debt door has been blown off the hinges. They are already talking another stimulus, plus a two billion dollar infrastructure project. There is ZERO political will to even discuss the national debt.sxsnuf said:A number of my coworkers will be placed on a "reduced schedule". I was laid off 03/23 and still have not gotten a dime in unemployment yet. THANK GOD FOR SAVINGS! I imagine the Kennedy Center already got its 25 million. I expect to see the US Citizen get their Federal deposits three weeks after hell freezes over. 0 -
Hang in there I thank God that so far my girls are protected, being a School teacher maybe not so bad right now! The oldest works for a company that has a federal contract and they are still getting paid too. Wife and I work for my company taking care of EOC and LS compliance for three surgery centers and we also clean a MOB. Considering hard about giving up the cleaning of the MOB. 0 -
I would check with unemployment office, this may not be the case, would hate to see her go rest of year with no extra days off if she doesn't have to. wifes company not making them take any earned time off, though this is wv.cbxjeff said:KenK, She will be happy to hear that. My wife is working from home but goes to the building 2 times a week for a short period. She works for an e-commerce company and they had a conference call with the CEO, he told them it would be July until this thing would be over.....................maybe.
I went with her to the building(3 floors and 380 people employed at this location) the place was empty and kind of creepy.0 -
Wifes starring at a $150k pay loss. She doesn't think her company can or will weather this storm. 0 -
$$$$ waste on an unbelievable scale to be dumped on the mid class worker...shameful politics 0 -
I'm mathematically challenged, but my calculator accepts enough zeros to help me out.
Phase ONE of this package (2 trillion) will cost over $6,000 for EVERY man, woman and child in The USA.
Yet no one person will receive direct payment of more than $1,200 (as I understand it).
So, every American is writing a check for over $4,800 and tossing it into "the trough", where Corporate America/special interest groups will, once again, gorge themselves into oblivion.
And, sadly, most Americans will be soooooo very grateful to our government "leaders" for making it all possible.0
