Surprised by what is becoming "hard to find" objects.....weight lifting equipment is one, FREEZERS!
A couple of my gym addict friends have posted want ads for weights because they haven't been able to find anything at a decent price and their gyms are closed. Game systems are dried up and what you can find is overpriced. Of course, all of the Clorox wipes are gone, Lysol, and alcohol (the medical stuff) is gone. I thought we were safe because I'm pretty stocked up and its just the two of us here at my house.
BUT......
My luck had to kick in and my freezer went out. It was older and wasn't being used for much of anything but larger objects I didn't want in my fridge and bags of ice since my ice maker quit working last year. So, since all the freezers on the planet are gone I bought a GIANT one from the Sears store nearby and I was lucky to get that one. I called them and they said they only had that one left.....so I asked them to hold it so I could bring my husband and truck up there the next day. So, I had to run to the store and buy a bunch of frozen food to fill it because what I had wouldn't fill 1/4th of it.
I'm glad I did though. It was actually a good thing because the following day they announced they were doing a state wide shut down for Alabama. I was going to be ok with what I had, but losing a deep freeze at the worst possible time wasn't the plan. At least I got stocked up a day before this was announced. Looking at the lines they have everywhere if this had happened a day later I would have just given what I had to anyone that wanted it for their freezer and not worried about it. There is NO WAY I would get out in what I'm looking at on the internet today.

I have an Olympic weigh set and bench in my carport I'm not using. 0 -
Reminds me of the Andy Griffin episode when Aunt Bea’s freezer went out.

If you put that out for sale on your local Facebook want ads I'm guessing you'll get twice what its worth right now. Check out the prices in your area to be sure.Ricci.Wright said:I have an Olympic weigh set and bench in my carport I'm not using.0 -

I had a Whirlpool Refrigerator/Freezer combo crap out after 1 year and 2 months old. (Yep 2 months beyond warranty.) I got totally hosed, because I had just stocked/filled it with about $250 in fresh and frozen food. Kept thinking, no way can this be going bad. Kept trying to adjust the various controls, to no end.
I am still mad about it. I will NEVER, buy another Whirlpool product again, EVER.
Makes me mad, just thinking about it. Grrr..............................

We have a local gym that loaned/rented out their entire inventory of what they could, with a deposit, to gym customers. They figured that since the gym was closed, and people still wanted to keep in shape, they might as well help both parties out. 3 -
This is a bit disturbing..............Locust Fork said:My luck had to kick in and my freezer went out. It was older and wasn't being used for much of anything but larger objects.

I called all the local Lowe’s. None in stock and 2-3 weeks delivery. I called a local furniture and appliance store. They had 6 in stock. I came away with a 14ft upright. He even gave me a $25 discount. It was only the owner and his wife in the store till I got there. 0 -
Barbells may be gone but still plenty of dumbels around. 0
