I have this underlying feeling
Like we are on the brink of war. It would be unnerving were I not prepared. I feel like a football player waiting to go in the game after the second half and I keep wondering when the sun will be darkened by ash and smoke.

I came back from grocery shopping this morning with the same feeling. Everyone was polite; there was no pushing, shouting or any outward signs of distress, but there was an undertone of nervous tension. People were very focused; they went about their business quickly and quietly. I spoke to my mother this afternoon and she was reminded of the Cuban Missile Crisis: whatever will happen- and it could well be bad- is out of your control, and you have limited options to protect yourself from it. 3 -

I think at the crux of it, just about everyone you come across outside of your home is skeptical of you: why are you out and about? Do you have the virus? Is it safe to be near you? People are almost afraid to talk to each other. They frantically sanitize anything you touch (good!) and there is a LOT of nervous tension.3 -
Folks are scared. Folks here are still polite. I don't see any looting or stealing unless food shortages occur. 0 -

I too have a little itch going on in the back of my mind. I feel as if there is just something we are not being told. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Media hype or is there truly something more sinister about this particular strain of coronavirus then what is being shared by the talking heads?
Also, I for one, do not believe anything coming out of China about their numbers.

Yes, I remember those Red Alert days at Ft. Jackson. Five minutes to hit the Company street when you hear that whistle blow. Slept in our clothes to be ready to fight the Russians.
Received local paper this PM. By order of Orange County, NY executive as of April 1st you will be arrested if you fail to observe social distancing. As of April 1st------- 1,782 positive cases, 227 people hospitalized, 25 county residents have died.3 -
Petty crimes are down, but we've had a bunch of pursuits and more serious crimes. People were really behaving the first week or so, but the tension is building and a few more weeks of this will really ratchet up the tension. Domestics will be on the rise, as will alcohol and drug use.... 3 -
My experience has been totally different.
the wife and went grocery shopping the morning, had a great conversation with an employee we have known for almost 20 years, danced to ‘Hey soul sister’ playing at the store and brought smiles to dozens of faces. Pity smiles, no doubt, but smiles.
we both make it a point to be upbeat and engage people and 9 times out of 10 it is reciprocated. A bad time in the history of this country, but it will only get you down if you let it.

An excellent point. There really isn't much for people to do. You can't go anywhere except to the market, and the usual diversions like TV sports have all been canceled. Lots of husbands and wives (or significant others) and their kids are stuck at home 24-7. Not every family unit lives in the Ozzie and Harriet world. I've been feeling the same way as well. Even if the virus is exactly as we are being told half of this country doesn't have a thousand bucks saved up and putting them a month behind on their bills is going to nuke the economy. 0 -
I was thinking about what has been happening around the world.1. Corona Virus went berserk in China.2. Corona Virus spread to all other parts of the world.3. North Korea claims to be unaffected by the virus.4. Military hospital ships assigned to both coasts.
5. War ships activated in guise of fighting "Drug War".6. Survival forces locked in Cheyenne mountain, etc.
So I pondered... was this virus sitting in a bowl of bat soup waiting for thousands of years to become active?
Or is it more likely China was developing a biological weapon and it got away from them...or did North Korea develop the bio-weapon then use it on China? After which it went worldwide? And North Korea already has their vaccine? Hmmmmmmmmm.Now several world powers are poised, ready to take over the world?
Now the USA is mobilizing against these world threats.My feeling is we do not have even an inkling of the real situation and it is so much bigger than we can comprehend.Maybe that $1200s is our severance check....

You guys and gals got to much time on your hands. I am going 180 on this Corona. We had a "death" here next county, 94 y/o in nursing home with lots of conditions and they are counting it a Covid death to jack the numbers.

At some point Trump is going to lose patience with Fauci, as Fauci appears more and more to be a bureaucrat wedded to the system rather than actually fighting this bug. Fauci's resistance to using hydroxychloroquine mixed with azithromycin is making him odd man out. Trump is going to have to stand up to these one worlders driving our economy into the toilet, he's going to have to at some point go against the grain and order a pull back on these restrictions. If he doesn't then the US will be damaged forever.
