CDC recommends all Americans wear masks

Who was that masked man?
Dont know but wanted to thank him....3 -
I was just in a store with my mask and my side arm. I was thinking "hmm..."

What can it possibly hurt? 0 -
Well with 1400 Americans dying in the last 24 hours I cant see where it would hurt

If anyone in your house can sew, there are patterns online to make your own. Wife made ours. They're like half a bikini top, and my face is a C cup. (Hers is flowers and mine is camo. People stop us everywhere and ask about them.) 3 -
I'd wear one, & so would my wife, but...... the only folks who have factory-made surgical masks are hoarding them. No point in wearing one my neighbor made out of an old dish towel.0

Got a good supply of silver bullets masked man? 3 -
I had R-95s in the shop to keep the dust out of my lungs when fitting grips. Not many, so we use them, get back in the truck spray them with alcohol, then use hand sanitizer. 0 -
Earlier in March, I picked up some newer 40mm CBRN filters and 60mm to 40mm conversion rings for my pair of Danish Gas Masks.
Digging around the house, I found 3 N95 dust masks.
I have a large roll of Wool Felt for making lubed black powder wads. I bet that would work perfectly sewn into a bandana.

I prefer Keystone over silver bullets....He Dog said:Got a good supply of silver bullets masked man?

I'd bet every fisherman on here has at least one BUFF or knockoff of same.

Another flip-flop! Done by our wise and caring government. You can't make this stuff up and it's so stupid to begin with. They wanted masks for medical personnel first and couldn't find none. That's why they had to flip flop now.

Wife is into sewing she has perfected a design of her own using a paper clip at the nose to close it, sewed in folds and fits tight all the way around the face. She even made one with a replaceable filter using a hepa vacuum cleaner bag filter. Working at the surgery centers I been hooked up a few times by the centers. I already had N95 masks for work 0 -
Maybe a nice bio-hazard pattern quilted? Would that be an act of terrorism? 0 -

Rocky that is way cool! can I order two of those camo masks? Digital or Real Tree would be great, but I am not really fussy.

Yep. A week two weeks ago. "We do not suggest/recommend wearing a mask."
Now it is "We recommend all Americans wear a mask when out in Public."
Nothing like continuity of message.

My thinking is that we’re not that far up the learning curve yet, so knowledge and recommendations are constantly changing.
It’s really sad though that some groups are twisting things to fit an agenda instead of working together to get us through this as the first priority.
That said, we’re making progress on a lot of fronts, PPE production is ramping up quickly, even by companies not in that business (Burberry is making PPE gowns). 3-M turned on additional capacity and hired more help to run it. Ventilators are getting made by a lot of companies now (GM and Ford) Medtronic Couldn’t meet the demand and actually turned over their design to the public domain. Companies (Bayer & ?) have ramped up and donated Chloroquine pills. The New England Patriots and the Krafts had the team plane go to China and pick up 1.2M N-95 masks. Toyota is 3-D printing face shields and has their process improvement teams helping other companies improve efficiency on PPE manufacturing. Abbot is building quicker smaller testing devices for people with symptoms. Antibody testing kits for existing blood testing machines will soon be out from Ortho Clinical Diagnostics. J&J, Moderna and others are all working on fast tracked vaccines. The Weather Channel (IBM) has added a Covid tracker on their app, goes down to the county.
A lot is happening, the American spirit it rattling back to life, lengthy foreign dependent supply chains are being questioned. We’ll collectively come back a lot stronger, but the economy, companies of all sizes and people effected by the shutdowns are definitely getting hurt. Hoping it can get restarted soon!

I concur Bob but this economy has to get started, SOON. We would not have shut down the country if this virus was present during WW-2. With a very minute fraction of people dying it would not have been a quarter size pothole in the road. 0 -
Would you rather they change their recommendations when learning new facts, or adamantly stick to their first - and incorrect - ones?
Damned if they do...

There you go again, applying logic. That Sh** just won't fly around here ya know.0 -
The shot is fine; it's all you idjits catching the wrong strain that's the problem! 0 -
My sister sewed one up and uses it to cover the N95 I gave her. Social peer pressure about having N95.
