I told my wife just last night that if I wore a mask or bandana into the bank, it would seem like an old western.

Actually saw I husband and wife at grocery store with bandanas over their faces.  I was not sure if I was going to get robbed.

But,,,but,,,but,,,,the government has never lied to us before.

I have said all along, "It keeps respiratory droplets in and it keeps respiratory droplets out.

If masks and gloves aren't really necessary why are nurses and doctors doing so much worrying?
Why don't they just wash their hands and keep on truckin'?

Now, they are saying gloves are worse than no gloves.   Standby......................... What a load of bull.

If it only mitigates it's transference, what could it hurt?

If I had a few masks, I'd be wearing them out in Public.

    Obviously, your view may differ.

Folks can laugh all they want.. I wear my mowing mask if I go in the post office, or around tenants. I am thinking it cannot hurt and might save my life. I have some other N95 Masks also along with some plain painters or construction masks. They plains one fog up my glasses.

I found an old box of cheap dust masks from Harbor Freight in my garage & I am going to wear one when I go to the grocery store or any other place. I don't see how it can hurt. It probably won't provide much protection for me but if I have something & don't know it then it is the polite thing to do.

Now on nightly news the govt. is urging folks to wear masks if they are in public.

The best way. Wash your hands and don’t touch your face, let me say again, don’t touch your face - DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE! Most of the time you feel an itch on your face you automaticily touch or scratch it. Get into the habit of not touching your face. You will be surprised that the itch will go away in about 20 seconds, try timing it in about 20 seconds it goes away. If you would get the virus on your hand, don’t worry, the virus can not go through your skin, wash your hands often, and don’t touch your face.

They told us early on masks don't help but they are needed for medical people. Now that it is nearly impossible to buy any they tell us we need them, but not the good ones! Think all the hand washing advice is just B.S. too.

There is never a good time for that...!  But hey if Covid don't get ya, maybe that cheek dirt will!!  One of the things I am most grateful for is quitting DIP over a decade ago. I keep waiting for that time bomb to go off in my throat from years of abusing my mouth with that stuff.

No turtle necks. I tried cutting a chunk out of the sleeve on an old t-shirt, but my biceps have stretched them out so much, they just wind up around my waist. :)

For a change, I believe the CDC:  they are saying a surgical mask (or homemade version) will not keep you from getting the virus; it will only protect others from catching it from you

If the virus travels on microscopic droplets of moisture the N95 mask in theory has a 95% chance of catching it, surely other materials will be less perhaps as low as 40-50% maybe some numbskull will make a mask out of mesh but clearly the mask would help. The CDC had to be trying to prevent a run on masks because it makes no sense to think they wouldn't help. My point why the hell are Docs and Nurses wearing those and full bio suits if it doesn't help? From CDC "The 'N95' designation means that when subjected to careful testing, the respirator blocks at least 95 percent of very small (0.3 micron) test particles. If properly fitted, the filtration capabilities of N95 respirators exceed those of face masks. However, even a properly fitted N95 respirator does not completely eliminate the risk of illness or death."

I have noticed that Asians have been wearing masks for years. Very common in China; always struck me as odd. I am out every day and it is very rare to see anyone wearing a mask. I do wear gloves when I go shopping, which I have not done for 2 weeks.

I think a person should mask if they feel its needed...I use one, and it seems in all the news, the Japanese wear them all the time...

The Chinese wear them to mitigate the worst air pollution in the world!
