Rent Collections today

Everyone either Text or called to come by and get rents.  Well a few fell thru the cracks and didn't have all their money. Some had lost their job by no fault of their own. Took some rents and told them I would return next week.  Not to worry stress is hard enough right now.  All said they would see me next Friday.

    I wondered how that was going.  Suspect next month will be different.   I only have one payment coming in now and that's a house they are buying on contract.  They've been making steady payments for 10 years so if they have a problem I'll work with them.

    I hold a mortgage for a friend on a rental property & called to see how it was going.  The tenants are working from home & still paying the rent. He was very grateful that I called & was willing to work with him.

    we told our tenants that their rent for one month is covered. Both are out of work and have five children. We are in it together and I don't want to put any extra stress on them. We also been shopping for our shut in neighbors. He had a stroke and she is wheelchair bound, with no family near them. Their kids live across the country. Great neighbors for the last 35 years. I really feel for them. Life is so precious right now. Oak.

    I’ve owned 2 rental homes in the past.  Both turned out to be horrendous pains in the butt.  Tenants destroyed the houses and stopped paying rent.  I lost thousands on both when I finally was able to sell.  I’m glad I got rid of and no longer own those millstones.  I’ll never do that to myself again.

    no longer can we call you a slumlord.....wife owns a nice house in town 1.5 blocks from the square next to library and grade school playground...her mom lived there till she passed and the it was rented twice and then totally remodeled and added on to...  perfect,  but NO more rental ..she uses that to get away from me ??  grandson working on his Doctorate is using it as a quiet house to study since colleges went online...perfect

    40 percent of mine are laid off or furloughed. It’s bad in ATL. 
    I will work with them but quite honestly some are just in trouble and will use whatever leverage the law allows 

    I will still be on the hook for the bank payments on the 15 though

    Man warned me next month he will most likely be out of work, and I told him no problem. Buyer can do the best they can till money comes back in the house. And it will , never missed a payment to me.
