Corporate whistle blowing
How do you report inappropriate behavior - whistle blowing - when the company is very, very small, and the people you need to blow the whistle on are the ones who receive and investigate such cases?

The problem is there's like 3 people who know about the issue, and I don't want them getting in trouble. It would be OBVIOUS that inappropriate spending would be known buy the Finance Depatment.

Should good people lose their jobs because we sat by idly letting owners abuse their power and the company's resources for their own personal gain?

I apologize, calktulu. I immediately jumped to social distancing reporting, not abuse of company funds.
if it is a Subchapter S corporation or sole proprietorship, what they are doing is most likely legal, as it is the owners’ money anyway. The IRS may have something to say about it next April if they are using pre-tax dollars for personal things. If you are in the position to know this to be a fact, the IRS may be interested, but depending upon how they are structuring their quarterly estimated payments, it may not be illegal until they file their 2020 returns next year.
Again, I apologize for jumping to conclusions.

So it turns out our Director of Finance came up with her own solution. She is basically the one who "cuts the checks" for the managing partners. So what she's done is separated the work-related charges from the personal ones, and she's deducting the personal charge from the pay-out that goes to the partners. Brilliant! Hopefully they'll get the point.

It sounded like a case of speak up and lose your job, or stay quiet and swallow you morals. Not a good situation in either case.

What is comes down to it this. It is none of your business, PERIOD. How the owners of the business handle the money is between the partners, the IRS and God. As long as you are paid what you are owed how others act within the company is not your concern. If the offending party is hiding personal spending from partners that is a different matter and one that only the book keeper should address through the other partners in a private meeting. It is her responsibility to the company to discuss matters like where money is going and who is spending it. It is within her job duties to report financial information to all the owners. If the alleged party is indeed stepping out of bounds with company money it is their job and duty to correct it, not yours.0 -
So I guess you don't vote in any elections? By your logic, it's NO ONE'S responsibility to care about what goes on at the levels above them. So only City Council members should vote for state legislature, and state legislatures should vote for national congress, and congress should vote for the president?
I know that's an extreme example, but I disagree with your opinion. As I posted earlier, it's not OK to turn a blind eye to corruption, theft, or evil in general. I don't want to lost my job. I want to company to not only survive, but thrive. Why shouldn't I do everything within my power to make things better?0
