I have been saying for years how stupid we were to run so much manufacturing out of the USA. We are THE superpower. We should be dependent on no one for vital supplies when resources to manufacture such are so plentiful.
A service economy only sucks. Thank God for Donald Trump, he is the only one since Reagan to do something about it.

Nothing real new. Many years ago, when I was working for Dick's Clothing and Sporting Goods, we would often open boxes of cheap chinese cra.... such as tee-shirts and find pieces of paper of various sizes with chinese writing all over them. We were always curious, so one day I asked one of my chinese customers if he would be willing to look at some of these that I'd saved and tell me what they said. He said sure, so I gave him about twenty of these papers. He looked them over for almost a half hour, and then said that they were a wide variety of writings, ranging from classical poetry to communist rhetoric about the nasty, filthy Americans who exploited the masses and were destroying the world. But even before then, I tried to avoid buyin cheap chinese cra... because I knew that every foreign made item I purchased meant one more job had left the US and now the profits from the item I was buying would also be leaving the US. Tried to explain that to all the folks who are addicted to buying the rice burners and they just laughed at me and told me they were "made in America". I shot right back and said, "yea, that's right but the profits are not staying here and those profits are what built America, they built places like Detroit and Pittsburgh, so because those profits aren't staying here, you're contributing to the building of another country and killing your own country. Happy about that?" Most of them, including die-hard union members, just walked away; I guess maybe there were late for the local demoncrap party meeting. 0
