if not residing in Western Wyoming, Utah, or Southern Idaho, you might not have heard of it. We always jokingly referred to it as "sweepings off the mill floor".
Its really good, but I can only eat it in the dead of winter as for me, it produces so much heat during digestion that it's unbelievable, your mileage may vary. But like nononsense said in the other steel cut oats post, a mainstay for pre chores meal in the winter.

I live here, as you know, DP but I've never heard of it. I wonder if it's a "church" thing like Sanka.
Edit to add: Ah, yup. Lehi Mills. It's a sort of "Mormon Cream of Wheat."

Yep Rocky, that's it, but the coffee thing in Mormon families up here is "Postum or Pero".
That big grain mill south of you, just off I-15 on the west side of the road used to produce a several grain breakfast cereal, but I can't remember the name of it, but it was good, and like Germade, it was a real heat producer.

Something funny going on with that family. Most Mormons are fairly friendly people and are glad to share what they believe in. We have a family of them up here, been here for years and as far as anyone is allowed to go is the barn yard or spud cellars. I do not know anyone who has been inside their house.

Polygamy is not nearly as common as some internet wits seem to think, but it does exist. There are a few such families near us - a more than usual concentration of "single moms" often in duplexes or triplexes. It isn't just for the sex; they rake in public assistance money hand over fist and know every dodge to work the system. The slang term is "Pligs."
