WOW, federal regs ! And people want the gove to run healthcare ~ 0 -
If you think Government is good all you need to do is be a pilot and have to deal with the FAR's, FSDO's, 337's certified aircraft, and ever changing regulations and requirements to fly visiting mom. The FAA will bust you for a minor inadvertent infraction yet ignore local Airports flaunting the Grant Obligations they signed to get many MILLIONS of your tax dollars ignoring the reg's with impunity. The FAA has no accountability, just like the rest of the Federal monster. Flying empty aircraft is not in the national interest when a time of crisis is at hand. 0 -
But, but, but, we need rules. Every time there is a rule, somebody makes money because of it. And it's not me. 3 -

Very complicated ,,,,, but they shut air travel down in 2001 , in a heartbeat after 9/11. 0 -
The numbers I saw last night (Friday) were 125, 000 people flew yesterday (Friday) this year, 2.5 million flew on this same day last year. Do the math, it's simple. Air travel is down 95%. Atlanta, O'Hare, Midway, Phoenix, Denver, Salt Lake City, Kansas City , St. Louis, Houston, Dallas have all been ghost towns.

Some airlines have mail contracts that are still a required commitment. 0 -
It just makes sense, at the beginning of this there was a corona party in CT lots of NY city folks , some had the virus .
Next day one person and his entourage hopped a plane for S Africa & split up from there, oops virus now in S Africa
If just 10 % of the 125,000 are positive this thing will never stop

My friend from HS, is a pilot for a major airline. She told me they are flying medical supplies right now. She has actually been away from home for almost a month, until this week. God bless all these people that are helping out and on the front lines. 0 -
having been thru the Twin cities 8 times over the last 4 days, with 3 out of those 4 days going right past the airport on I494, i can tell you first hand that there are very few planes leaving or coming in, each time I went past Delta terminal there where at least 9 and as many as 12 of their big planes parked in view from the highway, last week doing my night run down thru Chicago I go pass O'Hare either on the west side down I290/I294 or the north side on I90 I never saw a flight going in or leaving 0
