That truck or car was obliterated! I hope nobody was in it when that happened. 0 -
They may be awesome but they scare the crap out of me. I have only been close to one while in the service and never want to be close to another one. In the service had to return ride out a hurricane and it was not fun but not as scary as the tornado. 0 -
I have only heard that 6 people have minor injuries. When I was watching it in real time on TV I had a sick feeling thinking numerous people would be killed it hit the mall in Jonesboro. Most people were home or not in town. I keep thinking how was no one hurt bad or killed thank you Lord. 0 -
It tore up the Airport I heard one man was dug out of building there

I was only meaning AWESOME in the strength and damage they can do. This is the second time I have been close to one Christmas Eve1982 was closer to me than this one0 -
Good thing the mall and shopping centers were pretty much closed

I got your meaning and agree it amazes me at the power that they have but was not trying to mean anything else other than how much I would not want to be the victim of a tornado.danielgage said:SW0320 said:They may be awesome but they scare the crap out of me. We usually donate to a local church went we see the destruction that they cause. I have nothing but admiration for people who live in "tornado alley" because they are so unpredictable and cause so much destruction.0 -
I have been in a few.. they are not awesome. 0 -
One hit our farm in 1969 we a a boat with a 85 hp outboard on it and back then that was a big motor found it at a neighbors 3 miles away. Then in the late 70's had another go thru some woods on the property and it cut path thru the woods that look just like that rail car picture only it was trees nice path like a road and all the trees laying to oneside.

I agree with the power. Seen the pavement rolled up like coil steel as high as a semi in marion Indiana on the Palm Sunday tornadoes in the 60s. Seen a van stuck to a telephone pole all the way at the top of the crossbar with a girls volleyball team..killed them all. It was wrapped bumper to bumper..blood still dripping from the van. The roof was removed off our home when I was around 4.. was under the bed and the whole house shook. Another one went over our home about 50 foot off the ground. The noise was devastating . That was a very lucky day for us. Another one hit the mobile home park I was staying in after married within 100 yd of our home. Came out of no where 0 -
I live about 3 miles north of Jonesboro but my office is about 30 miles east. Was coming home yesterday when all of this was going on and the wife was in the safe room. I thought it was going sharper east than it wound up going. Ran through extremely heavy rain on its edge (Hwy 412). Started to get concerned while driving but made it ok. In retrospect, should have went more of a southern route (Hwy 18). Fast moving storm. 0 -
where is your office
I may need to visit you sometime
I live out by Westside High School

I worked all day helping get a new pole and everything connected after a tornado went through last evening. Took everything but the house and corn crib. The remains are spread across the fields for over a mile in a nice path of twisted metal and farm items. 0 -
