What Russian TV is saying about U. S. corona virus numbers!

We were outside doing yard/garden work and didn't eat lunch until 2:30.  We had no more than sat down to eat and my wife's cell phone beeps that she is getting a text message.  My wife has three Russian friends from school she still keeps in regular contact with.  One of her friends is asking if she is alright since so many people here are dying.  This friend knows this is true because Russian TV is telling her so.  U. S. numbers of dead way past what we are being told.  (Well crap, which news media is the most honest, U. S. or Russian??  Who knows??)  So momma told her friend there really weren't bodies piling up in the streets.

Her friend was both relieved and mad.  She was happy her friend was safe and mad about being lied to by her government.  I thought "So what else is new!"

    Here on Gun Broker we were treated to reports about China describing bodies piling up in the streets and crematoriums, despite running around the clock, unable to deal with the massive numbers of deaths. True? Who knows?  Has actually been to China and seen it first hand?

    They are also showing video of empty grocery shelves telling the Russian viewers that Americans will soon be starving to death.   It is also being reported that Russia has plenty of masks and respirators unlike the U. S.  
    My wife just laughed at that, as she put it, Russia has never had "plenty" of anything except drunks and vodka!!

    Many years ago I worked a traveling job in Alaska.  I carried a small shortwave radio for company.  Radio Moscow was always a reliable station in the bush.  Alaska radio stations were few, far between, and low powered.
    I was on a job in the town of Homer where there was a radio and TV!  Over breakfast I heard on the TV news that a Russian Ballerina had defected when her troupe arrived in New York City.
    Upon returning to my room, I strung my wire antenna over the curtain rods and tuned in Radio Moscow.
    They were reporting one of their ballerinas had been kidnapped by the American Government after her troupe had arrived in New York City.
    I decided then, the actual truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

    MY Granddaughter is married to a Chinese-American.
    He has been in contact with family on the mainland and they claim there are far more deaths than admitted and the crematoriums are running 24/7.

    Consider that a rumor as it is what someone in China told a relative who told his MIL who then told me.

    We will likely never know as China never killed 50-100 million in the 50's and Stalin never murdered 20 million of his own people so don't hold your breath for an honest answer

    Personally, I do not believe for one second the news that China has been putting forth, that for several days, thay have not had one additional person test positive.

    That is a load of BS.
