We have a resident paid bald eagles that lives in the swamp/ bottom lands behind our house near the river . See them frequently hunting in the fields around the house . Magnificent sight !

Cool.    I've been fortunate enough to see both, eagles and osprey catch fish.  But I've never seen what you described.

When the chipmunks and squirrels die on my birdfeeder I put them on the riverbank.  Ive had as many as 4 Eagles land and feed on them until they carry them away.  I set out a camera and also get mink pictures.  Crows find them sometimes so fast,  Im amazed at how they do it.

They really are something. Whenever we have a leftover ham bone, my wife puts it out in the yard. Most of the critters just peck or chew at it, but when the eagle shows up, he scoops it right up.

I once saw a pair of eagles doing their mating ritual starting high in the sky. Locked together in a free fall and then before crashing to earth, they separated.   I was in a small fishing boat out on a lake at the time.

    Really made my day!

Ok, maybe a little.....but, technically, the title is 100% accurate. 😉
