The teachers union has put enough pressure on or worthless governor to close down online courses. Word on  the street is that they figure that if there's a chance the unionized teachers might not get paid, they can't let the online teachers make any $$ too. Absolute B/S!

    It's really incredible Steve. In the current situation we have quite a few more people with time on their hands, and they could be doing something productive, rather than playing video games and looking at porn. But no, the teachers union, who is the main reason that Oregon is really close to last in graduation rates in the US, is playing a little 3rd grade game because someone took their toys in the sandbox...It's actually really embarrassing to be associated with the State.

    Its not just Oregon, it is practically everywhere you have DEMOCRAT control of state and local government. Even worse is the indoctrination students face. Ever since the peanut farmer and the DEMOCRAT congress created the Dep of E,  education has become closer to being federalized and you can bet Unions are behind that effort.


    I also strongly believe it should be the people who vote on whether any government service goes union:  Not partisan bureaucrats or government officials.

    When unions get their fingers in government, taxes quadrupled, and quality goes down the toilet!  


    Lastly, Private or home schooling is the only way.

    Pisses me off to no end, Toad.  In just about  year I'll be makin' my break and gettin' the hell outta here.  
    How on Earth did the damned teachers union get so powerful?  Parents should be up in arms and marching on the capital with the torches and pitchforks.  As someone that's helping to pay for the schooling of everyone else's kids even though I have none of my own I can't begin to tell you how pissed I am.  Queen Kate needs to be de-throned!

    I'm in the same boat as you are Steve. No kids of my own, and have been paying for the last 40 years. I wonder if things might change once her "people" start having to pay for the 770 million "carbon tax" that she ran thru as an executive decision, rather than having to have the people vote on it. They figure the fuel tax will be about 40 cents per gallon once it's in full swing. After the timber unity rally, she knew damn good and well that it wouldn't pass, but pushed it thru anyway. She stated that she "knew it was really what the people who elected her wanted".... She's almost making Kitzhaber look good... I'm figuring on getting out too, just not sure where I want to go though..

    I didn't figure it could get any worse than Kitzhaber and then this ding dong special ed governor came along and proved me wrong!   Talk about a state of confusion, Oregon is it!
