Sometimes you have to be an activist.When my children were young, the local dogs formed a pack & roamed the neighborhood, killing cats, rabbits, other small animals. (Pack dogs will attack small children.) Our county had a "leash law", so I turned in a couple of non-compliant neighbors. (This was the suburbs, not the open range.) After a county of the neighbors were fined, they got the message.

or could be like here, had some medium size mountain lion tracks in our stack yard last week and there seems to be several less barn cats that were living amongst the hay bales.
or Don could be spot on, why partake of a yorkie, when you can get a lab or German Shepherd

gotta remember there are folks staying at home now that would regularly be somewhere else, not to defend them, but they may be taking their frustrations out on the "strays"..... 0 -

Cats have a higher protein content If you are low on space.0 -
I am very much a dog lover. Having said that, large breed dogs have no business roaming freely.
My Pit (Buddy) never has, never will. 100' dog trolley in front yard, and another on the back deck.
We had a new neighbor move in about a year ago, his three somewhat aggresive Pits roamed freely. Several of us warned him, in person. (Myself included.) Told him point blank, what would happen. (Two of them atacked each other and had to be put down, a couple months later.)
My neighbors son was taking a short cut through my property with their three large dogs. Those three dogs jumped Buddy about 1/4 - 1/2 acre onto my property while he was on his dog trolley. From what I heard, he kicked A $ $. My neighbor came over afterward to see if my dog was okay. I gave him an earfull. I had been talking to him about his dogs, and my property. I think it finally sunk in. If I had been out there when it happened, there would have been a dead dog or two. (And) Not mine.
Some people need to get a clue, as to their dogs, and take some responsibility.
I am a responsible owner. That is required if you own certain breeds. Anything less is irresponsible.

If the dogs were all male then someone with a purebred female dog in heat would fit that profile especially if one of the loose dogs was successful.0 -
Dog napping, serial killers stuck at home needing to blow off steam or a space rock is about to land. Is Alabama known for earthquakes? I've been told critters know enough to run for the hills before crap hits the fan. 0
