Why are the virus death rates so different?
In the 10 countries with the most coronavirus cases, there is a very wide range of deaths as a percent of confirmed cases. Doing a bit of math using today's Johns Hopkins data, Italy is worst at 10%. Spain and Iran are next at about 7% each. China, France, and the UK each are around 5%. Then it drops way down to about 1.5% each or the US, Switzerland, and South Korea. Germany is by far the lowest at 0.6%. The data are obviously trying to tell us something. Is anyone paying attention?

genetic make up of the population 0 -
maybe the close living of people and the amount of foreign tourists...north part of italy has a large chinese population ...go figure 0 -
Probably 4 or 5 times as many actually infected and not tested or reported in Italy and Spain which really screws up figuring the death rate. Bob 0 -
Sickness thrives in filth. Always has always will. NYC is filthy. Lakewood NJ -filthy Philthadelphia-filth Hardest hit areas? Filthy.
I'm not even mentioning foreign countries issues.0 -
Lifestyle is a big one, smoking tobacco, drinking alcohol ,drugs and illicit sex makes your immune system very weak.Being old or being a sickly person does not help either.serf
