Just Crazy! -
Had a bread delivery this am. People saw the bread truck and swarmed in. Bread was gone within the hour. (We are limiting to 3 loaves.)
I had a much coveted case of hand sanitizer I was bringing out. Instead of putting it where it normally goes, I headed right up to the registers with it. Mentioned to the line as I came up what I had. Every single person in line took a bottle. It was gone within 5 minutes.

Publix grocery stores in Florida have started a thing where only people 65 and older are allowed to shop between the hours of 7:00 am and 8:00 am (when the shelves are fully stocked). I think that is a great thing to do. 0 -
We have tried to institute that also. Problem is, you would have to have someone stationed at the door, checking ID's. There would be a major confrontation telling someone they can not come in, while you are open. It is a tricky situation.
We also (today) put blue tape markers at 6' intervels by request of our local Mayor and the PD, for our register lines. Who in the hell is going to inforce that, or stop the fist fights that will erupt when people cut in to the large spaces of "the Line?"

Ken, I think if you can sell items as they come off truck or while customers are standing in line, there should be lots of extra room for more inventory. No doubt you should be receiving a large bonus soon.

I think as long as the power remains on incivility will only be in small pockets like you are seeing.
Now of the power grid took a hit or goes down even in one city, it will escalate quickly.

I predict it gets much much worse, before things start to de-escalate. This crap has only started.
