A crappy, physically strenuous job (all i am doing is trying to get a ton of stock out of the back and onto the floor.) On top of not knowing where everything goes. At very little money. What's not to love?
At least the people I work with are nice.
There is virtually nothing available in my small town for employment. Been that way for a LONG time. Unless you are willing to drive an hour each way, on top of your work day. I have done that also for a long time. I would prefer not to again. There may be no choice. I do not see the current situation being long term. At least it is something.
Trying to make the best of a bad situation. Thanks for thinking about me.

Might turn out to be the best job in town, surely you could snag a roll or two of TP and perhaps coffee etc!
I know from a post a few weeks/months ago that Dollar General and other retail places are very demanding of the staff and it is probably hard work long hours low cash but I pray the best for you Ken.

Thank you mogley. At least I have a job, and some income. I am not too proud, in order to do what I have to do, in order to pay the bills.
Will keep looking. I seriously doubt companies will be hiring in the near future, with what I feel is about to happen with our economy, Regional, National and Globally. (Severe Recession.)
I appreciate the good thoughts. Yes, I am perfectly positioned to grab frequently seen or hoarded items. Including food. It could be worse. I decided to cash out my profit share from my last Co. I can sit out up to a year and a half on that (if not longer) if I had to.

Thanks Butchdog2, I do indeed work with some nice people. It makes it much better. Best I can do locally, unless I am willing to drive an hour each way, for a better job. Not sure how that will make things better, when you factor in the time and gas/vehicle depreciation.

All work is noble! Anyone that can take care of themselves and their families by the sweat of their brow these days has nothing to be ashamed of. In fact they should be proud. I have nothing but the highest respect for anyone that will get out there and get the job done no matter how dirty and tough it may be. Good Job Ken and also Mr. and Mrs. Mogley. Ken for some it's always easier to tare somebody apart than it is to watch them succeed...
It's instant endorphin release keyboard commando stuff. They feel real good about trolling you especially when they know their anonymity and geographic location make themselves feel superior - aloof - and safe...
Because they know deep inside they are morally bankrupt and bereft of civility - safely ensconced in there far away bone...
If you lived in the same town they would stand mute lest you knock them on their ads and knock some sense in them.
Let them walk up to you in your hometown and try and talk down to you - somebodies gonna be spitting out blood after getting knocked down.
Heck Ken you know about a half dozen of them campaigned against me while I was fighting cancer...
Pity them but never fear or hate them

I have worked several jobs and the people I worked with were important. I left a job for better money a few years ago and was pretty sad when I left as some of the employees were the greatest. LIfe is about trying to better ones self, but not always about money if you can live. Good job Ken. 0 -

A little better today, as I am beginning to figure out where stuff goes, handgun scanners, processes, etc. Every day will get a little better.

The monthly activity guide (MAG) should have a diagram showing where each Plan-o-gram (POG) is in your store. The tricky part is that any given type of item may be in 3 or more POGs. The shipping label is often helpful.
I fought for a long time to get them to label each section of shelves with which POG was there.0 -
There shipping and random stuff on carts is wacked. Extremely inefficient.
I have worked in a high volume retail environment, (as a Manager,) for about 23 years. The current system, I see in place, is just STUPID.
We got daily Semi loads of product. That pallet load would be dedicated to a particular area. Not crap all over everywhere every cart load. Extremely inefficient. What do I know though?
