Where do you buy Silver?
I have a bit that I have purchased over the years. Mostly from pawn shops and coin shops. I would like to add a little more where do you recommend a person to buy it online?

Now that the bottom has dropped out of silver I wanted to buy some. I checked flea-bay & others sources & they are still pricing it at the previous prices. On top of that I have to buy at least $1500 worth to avoid sales tax. This would seem to be a good time to buy, but where? 0 -
I have bought from apmex, and jmbullion. Both are good. 0 -
Silvertown, in store, Apmex.
In that order.
I see most online dealers are out right now.

Was at a local coin store the other day. Owner said he had a lot of buyers come in that had cashed in their IRAs and 401Ks and were buying silver. Watched one man and wife selecting a number of bullion coins at about $30/@/oz. He was hoping there might be some future collector value (speculating).shootuadeal said:Silvertown, in store, Apmex.

While the spot price of silver dropped a lot (due to large bank sell offs?), to about $12.50/oz. I heard/read that the premiums over spot sky rocketed to as much 100% or more of the spot price itself.
So be careful when buying. If you're new to this my recommendation would be to buy from a large reputable company, look for good delivery time (a week?), low fees and shipping cost. If you are just interested in the silver as a metal, I would recommend looking for plain silver ingots.

You will not be able to find any online. The company I use just emailed and said the Canadian mint is closed down for a week. That mint is the largest mint for silver. 0 -
Even tho spot is down, no-one is selling at anywhere close to spot, if even selling at all.0

Yep and the on line guys I've used AMPEX, JM Bullion, Etc. are all charging a real wide spread on top of spot, used to order at less than a dollar over spot, often less than .50 cents over with free delivery now it is way over that if you can find any. I guess the price is only 12 bucks if you are selling not buying! LOL 0 -
Black market prices. If you don't have it by now they will fleece you.serf

JM Bullion, but their stock is very limited right now. 0 -
APMEX is ok but I prefer JMBullion. I used to use PROVIDENT exclusively but they became totally unresponsive to emails so I quit ordering from them. 0 -
US mint. Top dollar, but best value. 0 -
APMEX customer for about 15 years. I just buy bars though. I don't need any pretty coins. 0 -
If you're buying weight might I suggest sterling silver ware? They're .925 fine or better or junk 90% silver coins. Buy them by the pound. I think I'll wait until $10 and see if the local coin shops are open then take advantage. 0
