You are 11 maybe 12 days ahead of Italy.
What can you do to stay ahead of the curve?

Chicago, NYC, San Fransisco and any large cities will be hot spots. I don't think America is ready for this. 3 -
Read a few minutes ago that most of those who died in Italy had preexisting medical conditions. 0 -
The biggest issue, is going to be when hospitals get overrun with people who suffer more severely from this illness.....than you have to go in for an emergency appendectomy.....only they don't have the room or staff to properly care for you and than you die.
I hope this turns out for the better, but as the old saying goes...."Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst."

Personally, I am extremely concerned. I am one of those with preexisting medical issues. A badly regurgitating Mitral valve, breathing issues and sleep apnea. I would most definately be one of the "Serious" cases. Slowly suffocating would be a horrible way to go. I am also extremely concerned about my 90 year old Mom. She would not survive this.
I believe an awful lot of people who are not taking this very serious, are going to change their tune when this thing really takes off here. I believe we are on the cusp of that happening. I hate to be all doom and gloom (I am not usually like that.) But this thing is far from over. I believe it is just ramping up here. I REALLY hope I am wrong about this.
I said some heartfelt Prayers last night.

It is going to happen here they way things are currently being done. Let tell you what happened to us yesterday.
My wife had head congestion and a cough because she is diabetic and had high blood pressure she has to take a special type of cough syrup. She took the wrong type of cough syrup and had to go to the DR because her BP was getting out of control.
DR says she should be tested for COVID 19 because of cough, cough and elevated temp of 100. Clinic does not have any test kits. They told the wife she would have to be tested at ER but don’t go there because you will get the virus for sure.
This whole thing is so screwed up by the government that you may see the numbers like the rest of the world.
Why hasn’t the NG been activated with field hospitals that can be used isolate and test potential carriers.0 -

I'm still shaking my head at the comments made by some here over the past few weeks. A person's true self becomes quite visible during bad times. I disregard some comments to age and senility, while others show the evil that lives inside their darkened soul. Times are going to get much worse and quickly. Everyday life is changing across the country and around the world. I wish my friends here all the strength to endure it.

I REALLY hope I am wrong on this, but I am afraid a lot of folks are in for a rude awakening - in the not too distant future.

Italy has a very large percentage of elderly folks, and a very high percentage of smokers in its population. It's not a fair comparison of population stats.
