Bought White Bread -
For the first time in about 15-20 years. Slim pickings.
All the whole grain/wheat bread was wiped out, except the $5-6/loaf bread. (Not too many of those either.)
Crazy. Did not look at the canned goods aisle. (Wish I had.) It was okay a few days ago. (But) so was the TP/Paper towel aisle. Cleaned out, as of yesterday. I mean freakin' gone. Have not stopped in at the Dollar General, I was hired at, for a few days. They were better stocked, better priced. TP was getting cleaned out, as fast as they could get it on tbe floor though. It's CRAZY.

at local piggly wiggly earlier, as you said no bread, nothing on shelf but hot dog buns. went over to frozen iasle and got 3pack of rhodes frozen bread dough, guess we will have homeade bread for next few weeks 0 -
I'll go without over white bread LOL, most of the larger super markets have daily fresh baked goods I'll pick up rolls or hoagie buns or whatever they got 0 -

Good thing I have plenty of guns and ammo. May have to go visit the more "unprepaired," neighbors.
Trick or Treat.
Fried in butter dogs, on white bread with diced onion and mustard. All good here.

The "fresh baked," stuff mogley - has no shelf life though. (No preservatives?) Eat it within a couple three days, or it is moldy/gone. Unproductive as far as stocking goes.

The wife is an awesome baker (can't cook worth a snits) Her bread and pies are to die for... I guess it's become a lost art?... SHEESH! 0 -
At mine yesterday, it was obvious what kind of bread people here do not like. Plenty of Jewish Rye, Russian Rye, Light Rye, Marbled Rye... The Deli bakery was up and running, but few people seemed to want the fresh-baked stuff - likely because of the no preservatives angle. 0 -

We got a bread delivery 1st thing this am at DG. It was flying out of there. They are limiting purchases on eggs, bread, water, etc. to 3 of each. No TP, no hand sanitizer, no alcohol. Limited amount of Paper towels, (not the good stuff) canned goods getting hit hard. Somewhat decent selection so far.
Stopped off at Food Lion on the way home out of curiosity. Pasta, TP, paper towels wiped out. Canned goods especially soup getting hit hard. A little more bread than last time, but no where near fully stocked.
(And) mac10, I stuck up for you the other day. Someone said You ate Sheeit sandwiches. I replied, "Oh no he don't, he don't eat bread." 😉

Did a short day today. 9-1. "We do not want to throw too much at you at one time, on your first day."
Forgot how bad retail shoppers can be. Pick something up, decide they don't want it. Throw it anywhere. Ignorant A-wholes. Mom's ignoring their now out of school kids, destroying the place. I know, bite my tongue and drive on. Wish BIG TIME, we did not carry toys, and clothing. Those two aisles are a disaster, and I believe could be utilized to increase income/profitability. There are products that are much stronger sellers, and much less maintenance/upkeep.
Gonna have to get used to grin and bear it.

Did a 23 year stint up in NY/NJ, as a Manager. Believe me, I know. Next to nothing available here unless you are willing to drive an hour each way. Just going to have to try and suck it up over the next couple years, while keeping my eye out for something better. Personally, I believe we are going to be heading in to a big recession, and you will be lucky to have a job. I REALLY hope I am wrong.

I freeze bread and it keeps fairly well but often gets a bit dried out. Still edible for toast though. Buns on the other hand, do not freeze worth a darn. 0 -
We have a couple bread outlet stores around. 1 in Springfield, MO and 1 in Harrison, AR.
They seemed stocked up with boring wheat bread, raisin cinnamon bread and white bread. No 9 grain bread though. No limits on purchases.

I like toasted white bread and it makes the best meat balls and meatloaf.Sorry you had to get a job in a "Dolla Genral" that must really suck.
