There's a weird vibe in the air...
Just got back from my weekly grocery run and things just felt weird. People scurrying around grabbing stuff, almost pushing each other out of the way to get to their coveted items, and not a stitch of toilet paper to be found. Folks just seem to have lost their collective minds. Next time out the LCP stays home and the 23 gets to go along.

I was out and about briefly on Saturday and felt the same vibe. Like all the people were just quieter than normal and shelves were nearly bare everywhere. No panic, per se, but an air of fear in the well... air.0 -
How is it now Steve, that Queen Brown announced all of her "bans"?? I went to the store this morning to get some perishable's, and a few other small items. After hearing of the "new orders" imposed on us minions, I decided to go back for a few more luxury items. Holy crap, them stores got cleaned out in 6 or so hours...

Not quite that bad on this side of the hill, Toad, but a lot fewer items on the shelves than is the norm. And TP? HA!! Forget that!!
TP shelves looked like they were licked clean. My wife used to make fun of me for always having a buttload (pun intended!) of TP around but she's singin' a different tune now!
Queen Brown can still kiss my asterisk. Gonna be a lot of people hurting pretty bad financially by the time this thing subsides. I reckon we'll be seeing a significant uptick in burglaries and such.
I keep thinking about the old Chinese curse, "May you live in interesting times" Looks like we're there!

Number three was asked by her friends if she was hurting for anything. She said, naw, my mom had us prepping a long time ago. Back in December kids and I along with some of their friends had long discussion about having a sense of something coming. I gave them a list of things to keep stocked, instructions to get their bugouts packed and to keep their tanks topped for the trek to the woods should the need arise. Number three told her hubbie if the SHTF while he as at work he would just have to come here in his vehicle by himself. She wasn't waiting. Lol. I added 26 fruit trees to the ones I already have planted, and bought more chicks. If the rain ever lets up I will get my garden planted. I have two nucs of bees ordered and hives ready for occupation. Ammo, fresh streams and isolation. A country girl can survive (and support a small community since my four young 'uns will be heading this way with their families should the need arise). 6 -
It's the same here, all major grocery stores out of TP and other items, including chicken, beef, eggs and milk etc. I live out ina rural area and fortunately most everything can still be had at Dollar General. The wife went to Walmart yesterday, no eggs or hot dogs, so I stop at Dollar General and the cooler is full of eggs, hot dogs and sausage. I suspect it's because us country folk already maintain a good supply due to being rural not running to the store on a daily basis. All these folks that eat out everyday are in for a significant lifestyle change. 0 -
Absolutely. The d-rat dicktators here [NJ NY CT] are salivating over bashing the FED/Trump over this w/101% d-rat medias full cooperation. NG activated - wonder whats next from the wanna be commieschiefr said:Good to see the clue light flashing with most of you. DEMOCRAT corporate media are responsible for spreading fear and panic and using these tactics to take out Trump. Main stream media is the enemy within.

Scared wasn't the vibe I got. More one of wonderment. People I seen were polite, orderly and going about their business. 0 -
Here in OK they are imposing some measures such as schools closed until April 6th at least, concerts cancelled, etc. I think everyone is scared, but in a wait and see mentality. If the supply chain crumbles under the strain, that will be the next level of fear for everyone to panic. If/when the utilities like water and power go, then there will be mass hysteria. It is at this stage where I will start worrying.
Maybe we are already at stage 3. Many of the OK casinos have closed. In the 24 years I have lived here, that has NEVER happened. They remained open during the Murrah bombing and 14" snow storms (which the state is not set up to handle). 318 mph winds in a twister (which is 1mph from an unprecedented F6 tornado) only miles away. But, COVID-19 and mass panic got them to close.
