anyone have crypto currency?

Haven't been following the crypto market lately as I have nothing invested in it. Curiosity had me checking this morning and holy crap I am glad I don't have any. My stocks are down but nowhere near what cryptos like Bitcoin are. Bitcoin went from over 10 grand ten or so days ago to just over 5 grand today. I guess this is one investment I will stay away from.   I have to go with cash right now I still don't under stand this bit o coin thing even if invested how do you turn it to American green back??
