I was thinking that junk mail would also do in a pinch.  Quite a bit of my weekly garbage consists of it.  Would have to change the tiny trash can in the bathroom though with a full size 30 gal. galvanized with lid!

Keeping guests from flushing could be a problem!

when I was a young fellow about 10 or 12 years old  we had  most of our families relation in Tennessee  , and most all still had out houses . I did not think nothing about it as it was fact growing up had got use to seeing and using them ( we moved to Oh when I  was about 3 )
I had one of my Cousin's ( Jack )   he was one month younger than I .
Ok to the story he came back to  Ohio with us one summer for a month or two on the way back to Tennessee
we would stop at the rest stops ,  now that was rarely,  as dad had to make it record time every time we went but with 4 kids it was tough on his schedule  ;)
we were almost back to my grandfather's and Jack pulled out his horde of TP he took all all he could find at the rest areas
of course I had to ask why   . he said grandpa who he lived with never bought TP and corn cobs and catalogs just did not get it ..
at that moment  it hit me why mom always took a roll with us when we went to visit , and there were always catalogs and or a bucket of corn cobs   in the out house's  :o

Cobs, yep, just came from feeding the deer. Drove past the neighbor's old pile, cobs everywhere. A good stash unless someone else stumbles up on it. I do have a bit of problem, they were all brown. A proper cobbing requires some white cobs, a 2 to 1 ratio. Begin with one brown cob, follow up with a white one to see if the first attempt was successful, if not follow up with another brown one. If it ain't done right, it ain't done right.

We got indoor plumbing last month, now we just use TP and shop at Amazon.  No more ink butt.

I think corn cobs are responsible for turning men into queers!  :D

Just the opposite. They made real men, rough and tough as a cob.
Cobs had another use, Granny kept a coffee can about half full of lamp oil with cobs soaking it, the original fire starter.
Yes coffee use to come in metal cans

Still comes in steel cans in Mexico.  Good coffee too.  Just got two packs of TP today at Trader Joe.  Lots on the shelf, no panic here.  Let me know if you need a care package.
