It's heating up and the start of having the government step in with emergency powers which could be unnerving to some here.

WASHINGTON — The Federal Emergency Management Agency is planning for the
possibility that President Donald Trump could make an emergency
declaration to bring in extra funds and personnel to assist the
administration’s coronavirus response, according to internal documents obtained by NBC News.

Why couldn't this virus just have turned all those affected into zombies? I'm prepared for that scenario. 0 -
time to dust off my feme camp uniform so I can melt into the establishment 3 -
You can bet the government failed to quarantine over sea travelers .We got three here in Texas from a group coming from Egypt. I think The politicians failed us all here in The USA. They will pay after the pandemic here. Stock market is crashing and China has said they have new cases in Wuhan still.

So Serf, what would be your solution to stop the spread of this virus? As a society we can't stop the spread of flu or cold viruses so how do you stop the spread of corona. Total lockdown of the country? The virus was here before the Chinese announced that there was a problem. Spreading selected hysterical stories does nothing but encourage panic. If someone doesn't practice good hygiene and use common sense about avoiding places or people that can transmit the virus then maybe getting sick is partially their fault. Bob 0 -
It's Highly unlikely that the virus was already here back in January. We should have stop all entries from countries until 2 weeks past in quarantine centers,if you wished to fly in. Yep it's too late now and now we reap the whirl-wind. The HIV insert is a clue on how it was made too! 70% will get infected they say. So stay at home and if you feel well go to work? President Trump said it not me!serf

So you are saying no one that had contracted this "highly" contagious virus came to the U.S. from the start of the outbreak until 2 or 3 weeks ago? Wishful thinking on your part but highly unlikely in my opinion. The point is mute, the government is inept and most likely ignorant of dealing with pandemic of this nature. The HIV insertion makes a big difference this time around. It could be much worse then they are saying at present. In fact it has morph into attacking the central nervous system now..
serfThe human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the causative agent of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), utilizes more than one gate to enter a target cell. This strategy makes it more difficult for the immune system to defeat the virus. This has also made it difficult for scientists working in the HIV research to understand how exactly HIV infects a susceptible human cell.

The local news this am had local health officials [KNOWN incompetent political hires/appointments] stutter and stammering they have things under control.
101% BS0 -
IMHO Officials should have suspended travel back to the US after the first case was noted and should have traced down ANYONE who had been to the infected area in the previous month. Anyone suspected of being in the infected area should have been quarantined until the situation is resolved. 0 -
