Does anyone like......

Changing their clocks? I know it's not a big deal, but I hate changing time twice a year. I see no reason that we need to do it any more. Sounds like a few of the western States want to eliminate it, but heard that it's an all or none thing, and kali doesn't want to do it. IIRC, Arizona doesn't do it. Did they vote it down, or did they just never participate in the fun??

    Arizona decided back in 1966 not to participate in DST. I believe that Michigan and Indiana also did so, but later joined in the DST scheme. The entire state must observe or not observe DST, but because Indian reservations are exempt, there are a few areas in AZ where DST is in force. Whether DST saves a penny in energy has been hotly debated since it's inception, but merchants and other businesses like the idea of an extra hour of daylight in the evenings, which keeps people out later for shopping.

    Changing the clocks is not a big deal, I just do not like DST.   The clock should be in rhythm with the day and DST defeats that and causes people to get less sleep.

    only the clock in my truck.  one needs to be an optopus to touch all the buttons in order

    Hawaii doesn't do it but their day/night cycle doesn't change either. Maybe a half hour or so.

    My Atomic Clock sets itself automatically. Anybody ever look up the definition of an Atomic Clock?

    An atomic clock is a clock device that uses a hyperfine transition frequency in the microwave, or electron transition frequency in the optical or ultraviolet region of the electromagnetic spectrum of atoms as a frequency standard for its timekeeping element. 

    Amazingly that's exactly what I thought it was.

    Who is so busy that they can't spend five minutes (total of ten minutes) changing their clocks twice in 365 days (525,600 minutes)?

    Florida is trying to stop it.  It seems all action has been tabled for now in Tallahassee.

    There are the same number of hours of daylight regardless, There is no savings . Impossible to convince my wife of that fact !

    There are a lot more things to be worried or POed about. We must live in a great country if that concerns us at all. A couple of minutes to change the few clocks that don't automatically change and a day or so to acclimate and then wait 6 months to hear people complain again. Bob

    What a luddite!  Actually I would be happy to have DST year round.  I LOVE the extra hour of daylight in the evening.

    When you change the clocks - change the smoke and Co alarm batteries.

    I like it, which we kept it all year.  Extra hour of light after work to get stuff done.  Now that I am retired, the day is even longer for projects, like loafing and drinking.  I change the batteries New Years and July 4.

    DST always screws up my "biological" clock. Wish we could just stay on one or the other.
