Worse case on the Virus
-
if this were a deliberate act as a type of warfare by china......even if proven the only response by the USA should be to fast track a treatment or vaccine and with hold it only to our citizens......but i bet here we would give it away to the rest of the world before covering our own bases.....history shows that...... 0 -
That isn’t how germ warfare works. If your going to use bio weapons you want one that works with in hours after contact, eg. Ebola, Amthrax, and has a high mortality rate.

Really? I would think they would cover up the known factor instead of folks dying instantly. Let it spread and screw up the whole world. This might also just be a test for the next phase.0 -
The economy is being hurt more by the news reporting than by the corona virus. They want it spread so they can blame it on all on Trump. Look at the facts in stead of listening to gossip on the news. The flu so far this year has killed more than 18,000, on average 30 to 50 thousand die every year here in the U.S. from the flu. But if you want to believe the sky is falling that is your right.

Wait a second, uhmm, China would be in total chaos also from the hordes of citizens. What benefit would they get from their OWN total collapse of their economy also. Not buying it, no one wins. You still have a better chance of winning the lottery 5 times in a row than dying of corona.
The media slams this 24 hours a day of how the world is in total collapse BUT the Democrats travel to their rally's, fundraisers ect. with no concern.9 -
Waltermore has nailed it on the head. 0 -
The media is reporting Chiner has it contained ? Sure they do . Only thing contained is the amount of damage we are trying to control. Thank you that Obummer was not in charge. 3 -
I saw an article where they showed satellite pics of the pollution index in China. Pics of last year were covered with color. Then they showed current pics. Almost no pollution colors now. If the article and pics are not “fake news,” and the pollution index has not returned, I’m going to ASSume that the virus isn’t contained and that the factories are not returning to full production. I’m less worried about catching the virus and more concerned about the supply chain.0 -

I think you have a valid concern about the supply chain. It used to be the U.S. was pretty self sufficient, at least from a manufacturing standpoint. Now we are at the mercy and whims of not so friendly or healthy countries. Remember when car makers built most of their own parts? U.S. drug companies supplied the world. Electronics from T.V.s to telephones were made here. Now what manufacturing we have is largely the assembly of foreign parts. We exported a lot of pollution but eliminated a lot of jobs and national security. Perhaps this crisis will be a wake up call, but somehow I doubt it. Not sure of worst case, but I've never noticed healthcare workers wearing full bio suits to treat patients with the flu before. 0 -

Read this morning someone in San Antonio released a patient with it from the quarantine back out into society. 0 -
I would imagine, that would be the Coronavirus Isolation facility we have been hearing about in Nebraska. (Not a normal "Flu," situation.) If that is the case, only prudent to exercise due caution.
Maybe I'm wrong. Would'nt be the first time. (Perhaps I miss-understood your post Sam.)

Just confirmed the first case in Washington DC 0 -
Been up most of the night. (Since 9:30pm.) Was reading online News updates on the virus. Was constantly barraged about "Deals," on Cruise Line fares. (Seemed like an absolutely ridiculous place to advertise.)

by all means lets bring ALL the CV cases to Nebraska...middle of the whole damn country...what could go wrong ????? 0 -
Better than letting them roam all around the Country. Which is what is going to be going on here in fairly short order. Personally, I'd rather have them in Nebraska. If they have a suitable Containment Facility - we should utilize it, as much as possible. Now that is spreading around the Globe, it is a moot point anyway.

Well yes and also no.
Think of the modern iterations of the antipersonel mine over the last century of refinement...
The concept is no longer to strictly quickly kill foes - it's now a collateral damage force multiplier...
You wound or cripple foes - requiring the enemy to not simply suffer combat losses but to create liabilities that need care and treatment and cost time and resources and cause public media fear and anger...
The number of people crippled or missing a limb or sensory cluster function from mines now greatly outnumbers those killed at the time of detonation...
The result is cheaper mines that are easy to produce and hard to detect.
And over the period of time since the cold war ended and now - many nations spend more money to make mines with a shelf life or elint off switch function - so the ordnance is not a lethal legacy for the next 100 years after deployment.
Of course the third world wogs and simbas and Islamic crowd naturally seem to prefer and fixate on cheap small mines with a century plus shelf life in the field - a salt the earth and poison the well policy designed to cause multi generational costs and deaths far after the immediate conflict or even the sappers life spans.
As far as bio warfare goes I don't see China creating corona as a politics is an extension of warfare tactic...
In fact China has recently repealed it's one child policy and even initiated cash bounties and financial incentives for multiple births - as they are now facing a point were the population control and contraction laws will now see (say 2050+) a population of old seniors who cannot work and require social and medical support by the state - we're there are 2-3-4 non workers for every person of an employable age and condition.
They cannot afford or sustain and support that - they have reaped amazing gains and advancements by usurping western ideas and Tech - but that infrastructure will rot and crumble far quicker than many realize.
The scare for me and China and Asia is drought and famine or monsoons that affect north Korea - if you have 10 million troops under arms and more refugee diaspora zombies that may starve or cause civil war or regime change why not have them invade south Korea and Vietnam instead of starving...
China fears the waves of refugees and insurgents who will cross their borders fleeing such events.

This virus cov-19 seems to have a sixth sense to allow transmission without showing symptoms for days also colds with people who are feeling better can spread the virus to others for up to three weeks so why not COV-19?serf
