Swede soldiers, Congo, I see a K sub, Lungman, and what looks like some Swede Mausers, early 60's? I see them lined up, some with shovels, and most with long metal rods (probes?). Is this analog mine sweeping 101?

I think they are probing for mines. If I recall they were doing de-mining operations in the 70's.
Now all the De-mining is done by Filipinos or Indonesians.

Me Too! I'm guessing the guys with shovels were the brown nosers, the ones with the probes were on the snit list, and the one with the Ksub slung on his shoulder was going to supervise ...from the rear.
Grasshopper, looks like they're all equipped with the M96 Mauser bayo. The K submachineguns used them, the older Mauser carbine M1914 bayo, and later some with an AK bayo. The Egyptian Hakim was built on the Swede Ljungman tooling and modified to 8mm. But the Swede bayos wouldn't fit, so they modified those too. I've got one of each, and the only difference is the wood grip on the Hakim bayo.
