You got a two-fer. I never knew they'd do that. By themselves, those are fairly minor surgeries. I don't know what it would be like at the same time.

Hire a young kid to shovel the drive. After a couple of weeks the snow will melt and they will want paid

    Lol select-fire !!

yeah, not terribly worried about the procedures but the timing flat out sucks. My mom has pneumonia, my wife is going through a bunch of issues with her Hashimoto’s disease, and our new pup is wearing an e-coller for the next 2 weeks due to recent surgery. When it rains.....

    We’ll take care for sure.

At least they caught it before a rupture.

I had hernia surgery back in the 90s and I asked the doctor to remove my appendix while he was in there and he said he would. Then in 2016 I had a blood clot that required about one foot of my large intestine to be removed. I asked the surgeon if he happened to notice if my appendix had been removed in the past. He said it was still there and he removed it. So the first surgeon didn't bother even though he told me he did.

That could have been dangerous. If I had developed symptoms of an inflamed appendix in the past I would have told a doctor somewhere along the line that it had been removed so that couldn't be the problem. Then it would have probably ruptured.
