Gun not received
I won the bid on a gun in January and paid for it and later found out the owner died. We received an email that they would reimburse my money but I haven’t heard anything in a few weeks now. Has anyone else had this problem and what do I need to do?

If that is what really happened, I would think you should now bill the estate. You have perhaps seen the notices in newspapers placed by estate administrators advising anyone with a claim on the estate to get it filed within 30 days or whatever. I have been an estate administrator myself, and we honored any valid claims. I don't think GunBroker can help in a deal like this. Good luck! 0 -
Yes, but....you don't know who the administrator is, or have an address other than that of the deceased seller. So, you can only wait until the estate gets sorted out, & that could take months. In the meantime, I'd just send another email in a month, & ask for the name/address of the administrator. Just bad luck for you, but the email response likely indicates that the family will take care of your claim. 0 -
If the estate has to go through probate, it could be several months before the heirs can touch the money.Good luck,Joe

don't understand why they couldn't ship it anyway, it was paid for so it is not the estates anymore........ if they want to keep it they should return money imediatly..... 0 -
Agree, they have your property and are holding it ransom, the ball is in your court and you control it.....play it out. Hire a lawyer in their town to work for you if need be.hillbille said:don't understand why they couldn't ship it anyway, it was paid for so it is not the estates anymore........ if they want to keep it they should return money imediatly.....0 -
I would contact them back and ask for an update. I would also ask them if they could ship the gun as it was already paid for. I doubt the cost of the gun is worth hiring an attorney. Patience and occasional requests for status is probably the route I would take. They did address the matter with you and will most likely follow through. 0 -
Maybe your payment was the proverbial straw. Hope he had a chance to spend it!
