I guess the south is easier to have a compound with FEMA. Less population to deal with I guess.

HHS is taking precautions to protect the health of all Americans from Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). To that end, HHS and FEMA agreed to use a federal facility, the FEMA Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, Alabama, as a place for some of the American passengers from the Diamond Princess to stay. These are passengers whom the federal government evacuated back to the U.S. from the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan.
The passengers who will stay at the Center tested positive for COVID-19, although at this time they either do not have symptoms or have mild flu-like symptoms. Any of the evacuees who become seriously ill will be transported to pre-identified hospitals for medical care. Under the HHS-FEMA agreement, the Center for Domestic Preparedness will provide the housing, and HHS will provide basic medical care and all other support services for these returning passengers. Passengers will stay in a separate area from the Center’s training participants and will remain at the Center until they are medically cleared.
The Center has unique facilities and routinely offers week-long, hands-on training for large groups of professionals from federal, state and local emergency management agencies, hospitals, public health agencies, and law enforcement agencies on disaster response.

Actually not a bad idea to use this facility to isolate people known to have been exposed. Possibly to late as the virus is probably more wide spread in the U.S. than we know due to all the weeks and months of no travel restrictions. With its low mortality rate and the fact it mimics flu and pneumonia symptoms means we probably already have casualties from it that were blamed on other illnesses. By having a group known to have been exposed we can not only slow the spread but by monitoring them can perhaps determine the best treatment. Bob 0 -

of trump would declare a national emergency( or some such ) and throw everything in the book at protecting AMERICANS i believe this in no way would have a down side other than spending some money which they do with glee anyway ...and may look good at election time ....but......if a large number of older or more susceptible succumb, the backlash will scream to high heaven 0 -

just out...CDC says it is not a question of CV in numbers here...BUT just when it becomes widespread in AMERICA....to late in shutting off travel of people of unknown exposure.......i certainly hope when it becomes really serious that medicos focus on USA citizens FIRST and let the rest the world take a spot in line....i always thot this deal of bringing infected into the center of the USA was a unwarranted risk and outlying facilities should be fixed and used instead 0 -
Anyone could see at the rate this virus was spreading around the World, it was not IF but WHEN, it was coming to America. Let's, hope as some here have stated - "No worse than a bad case of Flu."
That would be the Best Case scenario. Once it takes hold in a few major cities (NYC) etc. It is game over as far as containment in the USA goes. It will run it's course.

Since the corona virus mimics flu and cold symptoms in most cases, we probably have undiagnosed cases in the U.S. already. I wouldn't be surprised if it arrived long before the world became aware of the problem. Wash your hands, stay away from crowds, and generally do what you would do during any flu outbreak. Bob 0 -

BobBasically That is what the experts are saying now. The coronavirus will come back each year like the flu and you will need to be inoculated each year like the flu but of course the death rate will be much higher for the weak sickly people than the flu.
The red Chinese are responsible for this curse and should be punished by the world community and pay for all remedies and protections to fight it but it will never happen they will never be found guilty,We need to ban all Bio Lab weapons research and any valid medical research should be controlled by WHO and not any governments. But they are part of the problem right now. It needs to clean its own house and become accountable.serf0 -
