Think I'm getting Paranoid COVID-19

COVID-19, has me, doing things lately.  Topped off all the vehicles, got a delivery of Propane. I stopped off in town, twice this week, and pickup 2-3  cases of Water and some  extra canned goods.  Extra stuff I would normally  not invest in.
The local  Salvage Store has protein powder on sale 1/3 of  online  stores. Also Boxes of my favorite protein bars for  $1.00 a box.  I'll use these in time any way.
Wife and I have been limiting contact with other folks. I can contact a Cold just looking at a sick child.

    Many of the things that people are doing to protect themselves from COVID-19 are the things that the CDC recommends doing during every flu season. Stocking up on necessitates to limit exposure is always a good idea. Remember, this is the flu and not the Zombie Apocalypse (although you wouldn't know it by reading the GB forums). It is a nasty strain of flu, but the Spanish Flu was worse and it had a 3% fatality rate. That means that out of every 100 people with the Spanish Flu, 97 recovered to tell the tale (my grandfather included). What makes this flu bad is the long incubation period, which makes it more likely to spread. Going to a gun show or a concert, or anywhere large numbers of people are gathering (especially in doors)  is not on my to-do list right now.

    We did a Gun Show  2 weeks ago. No shaking hands and stood back from folks And used  plenty of hand sanitizer, especially after handling Cash.
    Just filled all my prescriptions today, (90 days worth).

    I have to take the wife to the hospital this morning for her annual female check ups.  I have always hated going into hospitals unless I was the one needing one!  Seems that whenever I catch a cold or a sinus infection, it is usually just a few days after one of those visits! 

    There is a lot of light talk about this virus reducing the gene pool.  Pretty sure all of the keyboard tough guys may be changing their tunes in another few months.

    Not many of you young whippersnappers remember this, but we used to have a system to prevent communicable diseases from getting into the country:  Ellis Island.  From 1892 to 1954, immigrants were screened for illnesses like this virus; those who were sick were either kept in isolation or returned to their country of origin.  All the Dem presidential candidates are open borders advocates.  Seems un-American to me.

    Unfortunately for a lot of people, being reasonably informed does not include accepting facts that disagree with their preconceived conclusions and bias. Most seem to believe either the virus is no big deal or it will be doomsday. Bob

    Good point Bob.  I am in the middle but I doubt this is an extinction event like an asteroid hitting earth with the Andromeda strain on it.

    The virus is spreading and will probably infect a lot of people, but its not any more deadly that the Flu, now.  If it mutates and becomes more deadly we may have a problem.  My biggest concern is how it spreads and its incubation period. 

    I had the flu this year for the 1st time in my life and I really don't want to get it again, I was down for 5 days and 2 weeks later I am still not 100%.

    CDC got a budget cut not a haircut, everyone says we have to cut spending but no one wants it to be in their department. The 2.5 Billion the President is allocating  to fight Cornoa virus is FAR more than he cut from CDC! And yet the Demorats are screaming it isn't enough. Well hey pony up Steyer and Bloomberg!

    The flu mortality is .1%. Point one %. This covid is 2%.  I just heard this today from the Fauci guy or whatever his name is from the CDC.

             It could morph each year like the flu it could become more deadly with time and it's here to stay. Oh by the way it's already more deadly then the flu but The flu could morph too. Ain't that a nice gift from The Red Chinese government, But wait they are saying a one time shot for all of this is just around the corner! Just after they cleanse the useless eaters first! ;)
     If your sickly and old you are a goner this first time around if you catch it! Bet on it!

    Lowes is out of 3m masks. Asians have bought cases of them according to the service desk this morning when I paid my bill

    If you can believe the data the John Hopkins link posted earlier is showing 78K in China definitely less growth than their was.

     I do what I always do and imo this is no different. (handwash, sanitizer, ect.) Media build is out of the sky and the world will live another day. People will get filthy rich of the latest of dozens of "pandemics" in my life.

    Well I'm glad I didn't buy those Rolling Stones tickets. They'll be here 6/23.  If this virus gets loose, it's going to kill business and the economy in general.
