I heard them talking about this study on the radio (NPR) today. They were suggesting that the next step of monitoring and analysis of text messaging could allow "authorities" to identify and intervene if a person was at imminent risk of suicide. I guess "saving" someone justifies violating their privacy/rights?
Apparently, their software keys in on words and phrases that, together, indicate "angry mood" and corresponding risk of suicide. So..........if they can do it for that, watch out for what the next application will be. Text the wrong thing and you might just get a visit from the ole' "Pre-Crime Unit."
