Well, that was a bust as far as guns and goodies go but I did get to spend a lot of time with the great team from Granite Precision.  Learned more about supressors in that hour than I would have thought there was to know!   They invited me to come out to their shop and watch them do their thing.  I'm thinkin' I'll need to make some time this week and get out there.

If you see a gun you want to buy me as a gift, just go ahead.

I wish you'd sent this to me yesterday!  There was a beautiful pre-64 Model 70 in 30-06 for only $50 and I though to myself, "Self, we should buy that gun and send it to Randy".  Oh well, next year! :D

Was it the Lyons show, if so, was it good? I get an email every week of gun shows, and seen there was one coming up in the big town that you live in...

It used to be the Lions that put it on, but it had a new sponsor this year.  Can't remember who it was!  It was a pretty typical show for around here.  Everything overpriced, lots of raffles, and very little ammo for sale.   I did drop a little coin on three of the raffles but that was all.  The Shriners were raffling a real pretty Henry in 44 mag, a church group had a SxS ATV, and the VFW had a raffle for a Kimber Pro Carry 1911.  Worthy groups, so they got a little boost with no expectations of winning.
The best part for me was spending about an hour and a half with the team from Granite Precision, a local gunsmithing/machinist company.  These boys turn out some nice rifles and suppressors!

i make my own that is hard to beat. (I have slowed down considerably though.) One of the biggest surprises about moving back down South from the NY/NJ area - is that meat is more expensive down here. The grocery stores that I frequented up there, would run deals on London Broil (my cut of choice) on a regular basis. (BOGO etc.)

I have a commercial dehydrator, (now have a smoker.) I have a bunch of London Broil in the freezer downstairs. Need to get on it. I could almost live on that stuff.
