Supposed to be around 15° tomorrow and Friday night. I've always thought, if it's gonna be cold, the more snow, the better. Bring it.

Charlotte might get a dusting but accidents will be everywhere.

Yes, a 1/2" in Charlotte is akin to 12" or so up here in the mountains.

Down here in the flatlands of NC most folks are already in full panic mode . By nightfall there will not be a loaf of bread , carton of eggs or gallon of milk to be found. Bring it on , we already got ours ! It’s good to be retired. 🤠

As far as I have ever considered it, the more snow the better. We got 48" inches in a 24 hour period, on top of the 36" we already had on the ground in West Milford/Greenwood Lake NJ/NY. (Right on the NY State line,) back around 2011. Set a record. I loved it.

Yes, "Snowmageddon" hit Atlanta 4 years ago, 2 inches of snow and ice.  The city was paralyzed for 2 days.
Of course, the genius Mayor failed to put salt on the interstates.  Spaghetti Junction is rated by the Truck Driver's Association as the worst intersection in America, but the mayor didn't put down salt.  Atlanta had the salt, and the trucks, just didn't use 'em.
Trucks and cars stuck on I 285 for 2 days.  Kroger grocery, God bless 'em, announced that all stores would be open all night and anybody could come sleep on the floor. Plenty of people hiked 3 miles in the snow on 285, and spent the night at Kroger.  Bring your own blanket, I guess.

I am in the NC mountains and I say, "bring it on!"  I have studded snow tires on a 4WD pickup.  I have a big pile of wood set next to the wood stove.  I like snow.

It started here North of Raleigh about 1545 today.  It is starting to stick in the yard and on the deck but not in the driveway yet.

Been snowing hard since about 9am here. (Extreme NE TN/W NC) [Near Boone, NC.] 3-4 inches on the ground. Winter Wonderland out just now. Beautiful. Supposed to be around 14° tonight and tomorrow night. Keeping the woodstove stoked. As far as I am concerned, if it is going to be cold, I'd like to see some snow.

Snowing hard here in Marshall NC.  Two inches at least.   I fell into the creek, damn it got cold.  Couldn't work my fingers to strike the match and build the fire.  Was going to gut the dog and warm my hands in his guts, but he ran away.
    Cold.
    Will keep you posted.

We have about 2-3" on the deck.  It stuck to everything but the road.  The ground temps were high enough to melt a lot so its only about 1/2 on the grass.

    North of Raleigh NC....

We got about 2 inches up here in the mountains.  Never stuck on the roads.  It is pretty though.

That was just a smart ass joke, I was making fun of the storm as in my area, they called for 4 to 8 inches and we only got 2 inches.

The weather guessers here were predicting the destruction of life as we know it as was the Gov..............it was nothing and the stores made out selling Milk, bread and the other staples that the sheeple buy before a storm.

I made the mistake of going to the grocery store to get some beer and you would have thought an asteroid was going to hit earth.

One certainly doesn’t want to run out of beer in the middle of the apocalypse.

That is a fact and I was down to about 3 left.  I got a 12 pack of PBR and a 6 of Blue Moon ;)

Then I went to the ABC store and got a bottle of Tilmore Dew, they were doing a brisk business too.

Yesterday I sat on the back deck and had a few fingers of Dew and smoked a CAO Brazillia Gol! and looked out on the winter wonderland..........

A Rule to live by, right there. 😃

Luckily things changed for us recently, (ours used to be a Dry County, that ended maybe 15 years ago.) Once that changed there used to be (until recently) only about 4-5 places in the County that you could buy beer, & it was/is much more expensive than surrounding areas. Due to a referendum, Grocery stores can now sell. (As of about 3 months ago.) Not only are they cheaper, I can hit the Wing Bar, when I go in. Win - Win. 😉

I think in Tennessee you could buy beer at the post office.

Frankly with his background I'd have thought he had been better prepared....to atleast have a couple kegs stashed...a bit of a let down I must say.
