How's things been with you, Doc. ?  Recall you had some health issues and was on the mend.  How's the health looking today?
Have you burnt the tires off your new car yet?

      Hi Doc
It was I  that posted about what become of you last week ,
ya its been flat on here with a occasional break out . but for one I do miss your input and info  ( photos ) on your collection .
I found it refreshing you bucking the educational system pushing  against the liberal anti gun way of life  . too bad a lot more professors do not share your enthusiasm on gun rights .
another thought comes to mind you  giving away the bikes at Christmas to the kids  shows your good at heart
not just you  but many  other members who have not posted for some time are missed

How's the reduction in Doc size going? Still working to mend all the other issues associated with it? Hope all is well.
My step father changed his diet and lost 24 pounds and got off two meds.

Well, four surgeries in 2 years. Lots of related ailments. Knees getting worse. Shoulders messed up with arthritis so bad I can't hold a long gun. Taking many meds. Feel like maybe I'm past my expiration date. Put on 20 pounds in recent months. Still love my car. Still have my Harley but ride it only in a blue moon. Thinking about retiring to avoid dropping dead in the classroom. Money guy says one more year and I can pull the pin and be OK if I decide it's time. Not sure yet. Started using a CPAP and I hate it. Wife badgered me convinced I desperately needed it. It's only pushing 5-8 so it doesn't seem like I need it all that badly. Sold a few guns. Should sell all of them. When I was young I knew I would die one day but I never figured on this being old and sick crap. Have 5 friends diagnosed with cancer in recent months. Two have already lost their battles. Another went with a heart attack. Geez, I am in such high spirits these days. Actually, my life has been blessed. I'm just not enjoying all the medical stuff. Another new forum system? I never figured out the old one.

     Doc
sorry to hear of your troubled last few years
but good to hear form you you have added a lot to the forums over time
I am sure many more forums out there but this is the only one I have ever visited so anyone dropping out gets noticed
I for one can side / relate with a lot of your comments , and I am sure a lot more of the older posters can relate .
I guess no one ever said getting old was easy .    as for me at only  63 it not what I was thinking or wanting my body to feel like  . I have aches pains  and my mind wants to do a lot more than my body agrees to most days LOL
I too have  lost a lot of close friends and family in the last few years price for getting older I have been told
I  lost my  only brother and one sister to cancer ,  same thing  that took most of my friends ,
with all that aside  its still nice to wake up in the morning  over all I can not complain  ( well much ) way too many people have a tougher time than I could even image and face it every day .
I hate to say it but it rings true and makes more sense as I get older  ..  the old  saying I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man with no feet . seems to motivate me a bit more now days

Remember an old man telling me many years ago (when I was young) "Every life becomes a tragedy, if you live long enough."

That old man sure was wise!

Glad to hear from you as one of my favorite members even back to the early 2000's.....You are not the only one with health problems as all of us have them and even more so with age....  Take it one day at a time and before you know it you will be 80.
