Wolf & Coyote
If anyone ever wondered the size difference between a Canadian wolf and a mature Montana coyote, take a look at this. This 2 1/2 year old collared male wolf and adult coyote were shot in a sheep pasture near Broadus, Montana.

Yep, big difference in size and aggression too. BTW those Canadian Timber Wolves are an invasive species too, at least in western Montana/Idaho. The historic wolf of the area was a Rocky Mountain wolf. They were smaller, and less aggressive than those Canuck things. You "harvest" those things, Griz? 0 -
To call them a wolf is a misnomer. It's a hybrid beast. I wholly endorse the shooting to elimination of every one of those furry feral hogs. 3 -

Agree 10000%. The re introduction of wolves into the PNW, including Montana, should have been something closer to the native species. Not the Timber wolves that thoroughly annihilate a species that has never been predated by such a solo hunting machine, let alone in a pack. They came from a more northern environment where they could handle the snow, and take down moose, etc. Not where they can run in packs and decimate the local wildlife population in terrain that is so easy for them to use by their enormous size. Very poor judgment, IMO.. but hey, the libs/greenies are happy. nice pair are you going to skin and use the fur ?
we have yotes around us but only hear them some times really close I would guess with in 100 yards and only a glimpse at night a couple times in the last 25 years, they get into howling contest on occasion as best I can tell they have never got any of our chickens would be easy dinner for them not sure if the dog sent keeps them away or ours but have lost chickens to raccoons a mink and a fox over time . ( oh the neighbors dog got one )
and glad no wolfs as far as I know around us .0 -
Considering all the places I've been and all the stuff I've seen, I've never seen a real live wolf. I quit hunting in Montana prior to the wolf invasion. 0 -
Saw them in Denali (Mckinley) in '89 but not as big as this one. 0
