You guys ever see a Glock "trainer"......exactly like a the real gun, no firing pin hole

    I've seen one of those red/orange guns before. Never actually examined it close enough to know about the no firing pin hole, but my understanding was it was a trainer.

    It sounds like a Model 17R which is a "practice sample" which can be dry fired. These are few and far between, primarily because they are classified as a firearm in the United States: while the slide and barrel are incapable of firing, the frame is identical to a Model 17 which means it can be easily converted intro a live pistol with a new slide and barrel..

    The 17R resets it's trigger without having to rack the slide each time.

    Yes....that is what this is.    I just thought it was an ODD bird for sure.    
    I can see where some departments and such might could make use for it in practice scenarios, but it seems like a lot of money to spend on something that is a practice or training item.      I would imagine with all the Glocks I've seen over the years I would have seen one of these frames before.   Its sure is a bright color and I don't imagine that people out there wouldn't want it as their firearm.
