Your water.

Do you know where it comes from, what's in it??
I'm on city water.  It comes from 6 different deep wells.  It is pumped up and right into the water distribution pipes.  No treatment, NOTHING added, it's that clean and pure.  Yes,it is tested and monitored, and the reports are publicly available.

    I know exactly where the water comes from: A lake near the city of Kissimmee. It is the worst tasting water I have encountered, and it is so hard that just a few drops left on the granite counters will leave behind white mineral deposits. I admit to being spoiled by the excellent water we had in California, but a call to Toho Water (the water company) was met with compete indifference. "Taste is subjective. Our water is 100% safe to drink."

    I'm now drinking bottled water; something I only resort to when I'm visiting a foreign country;

    County water system from deep wells . Most are 300 to 400 foot into what is known as the castle hayne aquifer I also have a shallow well in the backyard that pumps 30 Gpm plus and tastes better than the county stuff. When tested it grades out better than the county stuff

    Our county wants to draw water from the river. Guess what’s just up stream?
    The biggest water polluter in the state, Radford Army Ammunition Plant.

    Our water comes from the filter plant on the J. W. Smith Reservoir on Shoal Creek that's about a couple of hundred yards behind our house.  The Smith Reservoir dumps into the Flint River which is less than a hundred yards away. Appears to be a clean source of water but I still filter it anyway.

    Under my house about 160 feet down.  Pure Ozark aquifer well water.  Best thing since sliced bread.  Took a minute to convince city boy son-in-law that it was safer than that bottled crap you get at the store and more healthy for you.

    62 feet down right next to the house. It has a lot of iron in it ,so much that if I put a magnet on the fawcett it stops the floe

    Really? No standpipe or water towers in the system? One of the reasons water is "treated" is to offset the contamination from the inevitable minor system leakage and the problem of the water "going stale" from sitting in the lines. How "clean and pure" the water is from the source, there's numerous opportunities for impurities along the way.
    My water comes from a reservoir which is contaminated by fish, turtles, water fowl, and the occasional Mexican peeing off the shore so I want/expect some purification.

    Yes, it starts out 12 miles upsteream from us at the headworks of the Wishkah river, so yep, it's river water. The line is "broke" and there is a treatment plant up on the hill a half mile from here. There used to be just a chlorinator up at the head works, but I guess it was not good enough for the city folk, as the water did get cloudy when big rain storms hit. The pipe is 48" in diameter runs 26 miles to town. There is also a school out here, so we are tapped into the 7" line to the school. It is gravity fed so we always have water when the power is out.

    ours used to be nice and slick, it was full of C8, from dupont plant............ not sure how many millions it cost them to put in filters for town, and now lawsuits out ying yang, did that first 18 years, then went to camp Lejune and drank their water for 3 years, it was full of bensetine? dry cleaning fluid I think they blamed it on.  thats why I drink beer now.......

    Of course there is holding tanks/towers.  But there is no treatment plant,nothing added.

    To much Chlorine and nitrates in my water. My fish don't like it, I can treat the Chlorine with no problem but the Nitrates are harder.

    In the town of Princeton, WV, back about 30 years ago, the found a dead man in one of the town’s holding tanks.

    On city water here....I wish I was on well water....both the wife and I grew up on well water. Dad's well is almost 700 feet deep.

    Shallow well here. With a 3 filter system, with gradually decreasing microns, AND an ultra violet light system, our water is THEN fit to wash dishes, clothes, and bodies. For drinking and cooking we buy water.

    We are spoiled and have very good well water.  The well is 154 ft deep with 23 gal. a minute.  When people come over and have the water they even mention how good the water is.  We have a commercial kitchen on our property that uses the same well.  We have to have the water tested every year for our health permit and it always easily passes all tests.

    When I go a city I have to drink bottled water.  Most city water only tastes like chlorine to me.

    Ultimately, our source is snow. Most of our drinking water comes from wells down to the aquifer, but we also have secondary (non potable) water from our reservoirs for irrigation. Our house has it, and we pay a very small charge to get it from May through October. There are also artesian springs nearby, and one golf course has free-running fountains of it several places on the course. The city there runs spigots of it in the town park, and people come from miles away with big carboys to take home. It is some of the best-tasting water I've ever had.

    Mine comes from one of the chromium 6 contaminated city wells, those oral and nasal ulcers are nothing to worry about, right? On the plus side, it is slightly better than when one of the city morons tapped into the sewer line. Nothing to see here folks, uh,...but boil all your drinking water for the next month. And by the way, without the voters approval, we'll be increasing your water bill by 300% so we can build a better waste water treatment plant.... but the 300% only applies to the areas where none of the city council members live.
    The last city council meeting for that one, had the peasants arrive with torches and pitchforks.

    Well here in the FL keys we probably get the best tap water in the world because it comes from the pristine Biscayne Aquifer..
