Gold Spiking Today
Coronavirus shock: ‘Concerning’ study finds virus can spread to chickens and turkeys
The study found birds given the virus developed debilitating diarrhoea only two days after infection.
It looks like it’s pretty readily able to spread between bird
And healthy birds housed with infected animals also developed diarrhoea just two days after exposure.
That rapid spread of disease both surprised and concerned researchers at Ohio State University.
Professor Scott Kenney, a senior author of the study, said: “We weren’t even sure the virus would transmit from bird to bird. That’s a significant finding.

While I wouldn't call 1.2% a 'spike', it is curious that gold has not risen more over the last year. Obviously the larger players believe that the historically high levels in the stock market are sustainable. I think if we see gold actually spike where it is up $ 300.00 to $ 400.00, it will be a signal that a lot of folks see ill winds a'blowin. This is a blip, not a spike.

It's seeing food inflation. The central bank in China will be the one to make the stock market crash. Not long either.serfhttps://www.ccn.com/chinas-government-fails-to-stop-coronavirus-from-infecting-stock-markets/
China’s Government Fails to Stop Coronavirus from Infecting Stock Markets
The coronavirus is slowly becoming an existential threat to the financial stability of the Chinese financial market. The Communist Party of China (CPC) is getting desperate to get the situation under control, but their actions seem to have little effect and a crash looks inevitable.
To calm jittery investors, the CPC decided to inject $174 billion into the financial markets through open market reverse repo operations. Additionally, the CPC also banned short-selling and banned major shareholders from selling stock for six months.

As fears over the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, continue to dominate the headlines, a second virus affecting China's swine industry is also spreading throughout the Asia Pacific region, threatening not only the lives of the affected animals but also the livelihood of farmers who raise them.African swine fever (ASF) is a contagious disease that affects domestic and wild pigs, causing high fever, respiratory problems, internal bleeding and skin haemorrhages. While it rarely infects humans, according to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), it kills 80 percent of the pigs it infects.

Unlike SARS, Covid-19 infection has a broader spectrum of severity ranging from asymptomatic to mildly symptomatic to severe illness that requires mechanical ventilation,” doctors in Singapore said in a paper in the same medical journal Thursday. “Clinical progression of the illness appears similar to SARS: patients developed pneumonia around the end of the first week to the beginning of the second week of illness.”A similar pattern of inflammation noted among Covid-19 patients was observed in those who succumbed to the 1918 “Spanish flu” pandemic, said Gregory A. Poland, the Mary Lowell Leary emeritus professor of medicine, infectious diseases, and molecular pharmacology and experimental therapeutics at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Well if you pull your money from the stock market because you think the supply chain will be interrupted long enough to shut down manufacturing, where do you put that money? Doesn't appear bitCON is the answer so maybe gold? 0 -
Gold and silver both down today as the Dow loses another 600+ points. Kind of makes you wonder where those that are panicking are stashing their money. Must be a lot of old mayonnaise jars buried in backyards. Bob 0 -

Bridgewater Associates LP has bet more than $1 billion that stock markets around the world will fall by March, said people familiar with the matter.
The wager, assembled over a span of months and executed by a handful of Wall Street firms, including Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Morgan Stanley, would pay off for the world’s biggest hedge fund if either the S&P 500 or the Euro Stoxx 50—or both—declines, some of the people said.

I am tempted to sell the gold & silver I have. Of course I would be unhappy if they continued to rise but you shouldn't cry when you make a profit. I am also thinking of selling my tax free bonds as they are way up. Problem then would be where to put the money? 0 -
Swiss Francs in a tax haven maybe?serf
