Poker Report: Update
Yes, poker, not porker. I quit porker reports when I gave up whiskey.
The tourney I posted about last week was a bust for me. Dropped 2 big hands early, one I was 90% to win and the other 85%. But cards are cards and gambling is gambling so these things happen. They both caught exactly what they needed on the river and I went home.
I'm hoping the odds favor me today. I head to Cincinnati Hard Rock again today to finish up a 1K buy in tournament. We are down to the final table of 9 players from 600 entries. There is 18 million in total chips and I have 6.187 million of them. Payouts are from 10K to 109K.
Played 12 hours Friday and 11 hours yesterday. We'll see how it goes. At this point I am playing mostly against professionals. I've seen one of the players win a WPT tourney on one of their televised events. We've already ran through several other pro players with WPT and WSOP , MSPT and HPT ( different poker tours) wins among other wins. Fairly high level competition, I'm looking forward to it.

Just because they are pros doesn't mean you can't do it. Crap shoot at last table. If a donkey got cards they would win. Hard part over, good luck brother! It is an exciting time to be at any final table.
You have a 1/3 of the chips,,,sweet!0 -

Thanks for the well wishes.
I took it down 109K. Tough table, as I expected, quite frankly I liked the challenge. Them being pros didn't concern me, just mentioning what kind of field it was. I kept pressure on the smaller stacks until they were gone then went heads up with the survivor. He had a good stack, 3.3 million, when the table started and when we got heads up I had about 70% of the chips.
He was tough, It took me 2 1/2 hours to get him, he wiggled out of several traps. I had him all in three times before finally getting him on the fourth time. In between I kept pressure on him and bleed chips from him. I had to keep changing what I was doing to keep him guessing. he finally guessed wrong when I slow played pocket kings, made a full house and jammed him on the river. He had the 3rd seven in the hole for three sevens. He had caught me bluffing on a big hand Sunday, I played this one just the same and he went for it.0 -

I've played a lot of those tournaments 60-100 dollar range. Fact is I played one a couple of weeks ago. I may play it again Wednesday just because I know all the guys playing, one of them is an ER doctor I worked with. I may show up at Tunica, there are a lot of good events there.danielgage said:good job keep it up

This guy was at the table yesterday, he was on my right. Nice guy, I've meet him before but had never been at the same table with him. I knocked him out in 3rd place, he played well but having me on his left with such a large stack is a rough position.

which casino in Tunica would you recommend to go for a $100.00 or so buy in tournament0 -
I wouldn't know. I've yet to travel there. I know they have some good events down there and I'm likely to go at some point. Next weekend I'm going to Hammond IN for a WSOP event.danielgage said:danielgage said:SCOUT5 said:

However if I was going to play in a $100 buy in tourney I would choose a Saturday or Sunday mid day casino event. A lot of people that play those want to get some time playing for the money they invested. So as a whole they don't take much pressure and fold to often.0 -
congrats that's a good showing and a nice chunk of winnings 3
