At least you can sell the range finder NIB and get most of your money.

I received a voucher for the busted BDC scope from Nikon, the voucher had to be used on their website.  They informed me after much searching for a usable scope they have ZERO scopes in stock.  I used the $249.95 voucher, added 20 bucks and bought a MONARCH 2000 laser range finder that I needed like a hole drilled in my head.  Just remember, if you buy a used Nikon scope and it fails you are going to have to choose another Nikon do-dad to replace it.  Maybe if they built a quality product to begin with this would not have become an issue.

Yep, CS at Nikon sucks big air.
Bushnell scope section is not any better.
I have a list for this type of CS companies.

Next time you are thing about optics, think about Leupold. May cost little more at first but they know how to treat people. I sent them a 3.5x10 XIII that the power ring was getting hard to turn. They sent me a 4x12 VXii as a replacement, but they gave me some choices of exchange scopes. I could have traded up to a VXIII for few dollars more.
Hard to beat a UNLIMITED lifetime warranty.

Sorry, no such thing as an "Unlimited Lifetime Warranty." That Co. goes out of business, (i.e. Nikon Scopes.) That "Lifetime Warranty," is worth about squat.

Kinda in same category (going out of business) as a lifetime warranty from a muffler/exhaust shop and when Smith and Wesson took over T/C the previous T/C Black Powder guns lifetime warranty ended. S&W CS is also on my list after they took over T/C. Got to also watch that word limited warranty, when it's in the fine print.

I did not get Leupolds lifetime warranty politically correct, maybe it's lifetime warranty even on their used non-electronic scopes, anyway  point being their CS is good people and made in America and their life warranty extends to THEIR used scopes.

Baush and Lomb had lifetime warranty on their scopes until they bit the dust and Bushnell bought out their name.

Heard a rumor that Bushnell might honor the B&L warranty but I suspect that is fake news. Do you know?

    Another vote for Leupold. Last year I bought a  VXIII 3.5- 10 X 40 AO, and a VXIII 4.5 - 14 X 40 AO, both used, right here on GB. $400 each.
